  1. Hello People! These days im workin on Linux Firewall  Avast Antivirus for linux is one of the most *bottom* kicking software these days. I use ClamAV which is an Open Source virus scanner, it works great. For email programs like Kmail, Sylpheed and webservers like apache there are plugins/modules for.So that you can scan your mail with it. For outgoing as for incoming. Even filescan of your harddrive works. It is available for Linux, but also for windows (and works with outlook) But Avast these days is on the TOP.Lets see what they say "avast! for Linux/Unix Servers features an antivirus suite, which integrates the avast! antivirus kernel, and is designed to be used on a UNIX-like operating systems. The suite consists of a command-line scanner, resident scanner running as a daemon and a client for accessing the resident scanner."Antivirus kernelThe antivirus kernel of avast! For Linux is identical to the one for Windows systems, which means that all high-end features typical in an AV kernel for Windows, are included in Linux version too. The latest version of avast! antivirus kernel features outstanding detection abilities, together with high performance. You can expect 100% detection of In-the-Wild viruses (viruses already spreading between users) and excellent detection of Trojan horses with minimum of false positives. The kernel is certified by ICSA Labs; it frequently takes part in the tests of Virus Bulletin magazine, often yielding the VB100 award. As avast! for Windows , avast! engine for Linux features outstanding unpacking support too. It can scan inside almost same number of archives as under Windows, with exception of MAPI, CAB, ACE, CHM, 7ZIP and NTFS streams. Following archives can be scanned: ARJ, ZIP, MIME (+ all associated formats), DBX (Outlook Express archives), RAR, TAR, GZIP, BZIP2, ZOO, ARC, LHA/LHX, TNEF (winmail.dat), CPIO, RPM, ISO, and SIS. It also supports a number of executable packers (such as PKLite, Diet, UPX, ASPack, FSG, MEW etc.). ---------------Dhanesh---------------So i'd say go for Avast Its Free and stable.

  3. I didn't even download it, most of the updates are useless in my eyes and i'd rather not have their piece of software with a rather contradictory user license agreement (if it's the right application that I'm thinking of atleast).
But yeah not much else you can do besides hoping for someone nice and usefull to answer the phone or just fork out.

You should contact Microsoft, they will assist you  you know what my windows is not genuine i am using a copy of Windows XP lolz and still i am able to download any updates and software. it works i dont know how :D it doesnt even ask about the license or any key

  4. They both are awesome!! I like them both equally. What kinds of rock and rap? For rock, I like modern rock, hard rock, metal, grunge, and some clasic rock. For rap, I like mainstream rap, southern rap, east coast rap and rap combined with a metal soundbut sumtimes ROck Rocks :D Guns n Roses ohh man, no match at all  i still miss them

  5. With the next gen consoles around the corner, the big question will be “Should I update my computer or should I wait for the latest consoles?” In order to aid in this decision, I’ve compared the next gen consoles against computers in the following categories: Ease of Use, Controls, Games, Features, Price, and Their Future:Ease of useConsoles: Consoles are fairly easy to operate. Once you have it hooked up to your TV, all you do is pop in a game and play. PCs: PCs, on the other hand can be a pain to keep up and running. There are several threats you have to deal with, such as viruses and hardware incompatibilities. On top of that, you have to go through an installation process, after which, you usually have to install a patch.Winner: Consoles win the Ease of Use category without breaking a sweat. They are nearly maintenance free and allow you to jump into your games a lot faster.Consoles: 1 PCs: 0ControlsConsoles: Consoles usually have a rather limiting choice for controllers. There is the standard controller, which is enough for most functions. Some companies will release other forms of the controllers, such as the Steering Wheel or the DDR pad, but they are usually game specific. Some console games do allow you to change the button configuration of the controller, but this feature is fairly rare for most console games. Even if the game does offer the ability to switch the button configuration, it is usually restricted to a few preset styles. With the latest consoles, the Nintendo Revolution will actually offer a radically different form of controls. Their “remote” controller for the Revolution will be able to obtain its orientation, distance from the TV, as well as where it’s pointing. This type of set up can be useful for FPS. This may give the Consoles a leg up over the PC market; however, I’m sure it’ll be a matter of time before a company emulates the setup for the PC. PCs: PCs have a wide variety of options for controls. There is the basic keyboard and mouse combination, as well as many other peripherals (game pads, Steering Wheels, Joysticks, Motion Tracking devices, ect). Another advantage PCs have over Consoles is the ability to map the controls. In other words, if you don’t like how you control the game, you can usually just change the settings in the options menu to what ever pleases you.Winner: PCs dominate Consoles in the Control category. PCs have more forms of controllers, as well as have the ability to change the key configuration.Consoles: 1PCs: 1GamesConsoles: The Console game library keeps growing. There are plenty of games for anyone’s taste. Unfortunately, Consoles don’t have many Real Time Strategy games, and they have console specific games.PCs: PCs have a similar game library, as well as most of the good consoles games. Take the X-Box 360. 10 of the 18 launch titles were already released for the computer. They also have plenty of game for people who like strategy.Winner: Computers win the game category, but not by much. Most of the good console games do show up on the PC. As for the consoles, in order to get the full experience, you have to have all 3 next gen consoles.Consoles: 1PCs: 2FeaturesConsoles: In the past few years, consoles have become somewhat feature rich. They can play music CDs, DVDs, have some storage medium, have internet access, and have their own OS. Their hard ware is usually fixed, but you can buy certain attachments to improve your experience.PCs: PCs can do a lot of things. They can play games, keep track of your finances, control entire companies, watch movies, share huge amounts of data, make media, ect. Computer hard ware can be greatly expanded, in a number of ways, which can allow a computer to do an unbelievable amount of things.Winner: PCs win the feature category due to the massive amount of things they can do, as well as their upgradeability.Consoles: 1PCs: 3PriceConsoles: The latest batch of consoles will most likely cost around 400 USD. PCs: In order to match the power of current consoles, you will need a high end computer, which can cost you at least 2,000 USD. Even if you do have a rather powerful computer, you still might have to buy a new video card in order to reproduce next gen console graphics.Winner: Consoles win the price category since they’re cheaper.Consoles: 2PCs: 3The FutureConsoles: The PS3, X-Box 360, and Nintendo Revolution will be around for 2+ years. After that, new consoles will be released. During this time, their capabilities won’t increase, but they still meet the markets needs every few years.PCs: PCs are always changing. After 1 year, PCs will be more powerful than consoles, as well as have a much higher graphical ability. If the PhysX expansion cards do catch on, it’ll greatly increase the gap between the two; however, the next version of the consoles will most likely support them as well.Winner: I’ll have to call this one a tie. Yes, computers are constantly changing, but the consoles do tend to release before the gap between PCs and Consoles becomes too big. Consoles: 2PCs: 3Overall WinnerOverall, PCs are a better choice. Not only do that match the next gen consoles capabilities, but they can also do a lot more stuff (taxes, keep you schedule, e-mail, home security, ect), however, they are not perfect. In exchange for this flexibility, you have to deal with maintenance, installation screens, hardware incompatibilities, viruses, and a much higher price. In other words, if you have the money to spare, don’t care about maintenance, then a computer will serve you well. If not, then a console will be a much simpler and cheaper way to go

  6. Hello, As my account g2k.astahost.com has been approved but i did not get any email regarding my account information. I havent received a single email from Xisto i have checked my junk folder as well. Please help me out, My email addresses areredfeilds18@hotmail.commaverick_02_6@hotmail.comThanks

  7. I've got cable right now, a 128k connection from Worldcall, and really, for an always-on connection, i'm actually online maybe 40% of the time, and usually at speeds that are the same as your extreme dial-up, hellraiser, though as u know i split it between 6 comps, so really i have no speed. but for that i'm paying what? 25$ per month. definitely not worth it. Cybernet now has DSL here so that's who I'm going with, at 35$ per month for the 256k line, with a 2 GB monthly cap. But the fastest i've seen in Khi is 512k, even for businesses. Like i go to this internet cafe when my line is down, they boast a "highest speed in Karachi net cafe", and what do they have? 256k.

Hmmm. Worldcall is good, their cable tv + Cablenet both these services are awesome.By the way why do you need such speed like 128K? as you said you split it between 6 PCs.. Hmmm So almost 22 kbps for each PC? Right? Are you running any Cyber cafe? :( I've heard that Warid Telecom is going to launch ISP.
I am using Multi-net these days and Multinet is the leading DSL Provider as compared to Cybernet.
and what are you doing on Xisto? :( have you ever been to Khatri's Cafe the one in Clifton?
you'll get more than 512 K in Khatris Cafe.

  8. Since I haven't had any luck with my internet connection sharing problem which i posted previously, due to the terrible quality of service here, i've decided a second connection may be the answer. I won't give up the cable because i also have 2 phone lines on it, plus cable tv, but I will get a 256K DSL connection in addition to my 128K cable. The benefits of this will be that it's double, plus i'll get the full 256K connection for myself without having to share it with other users. (I explained previously about the 10to1 ratio used here in pakistan)
My question is: (let's say there are 10 computers) How can I have them all networked and sharing files, but having 2 internet connections, and restricting 5 computers to the cable, and the other 5 to the DSL. I'll have a computer being the host for the cable, and another being the host for the DSL. Otherwise, am I stuck with having to buy a router for the DSL, and a second network card and consequent cabling for each computer i want to use DSL for?
My worries stem from them fact that the cable is unlimited, but the DSL is capped at 2Gb per month. Since i usually download that much in 3 or 4 days, i'll easily end up paying 10 times as much as the monthly line rental costs unless i can stop the computer for accessing that particular shared connection, and the computer will automatically choose that connection because it'll be much faster, or even because the cable is so slow sometimes it doesn't register as an internet connection.
To complicate matters more, i'll need to add a wireless network, over which the laptops will be able to access only the cable, when it's working.

Yaar You'll have to subnet your Major Ip address in order to share files and other devices on the Network.
+ you'll have been given a certain number of IP addresses you can use.
Problem is How do you make subnet masks work?
There are basically 3 Class. You should have known :( class A class B and CLass C
I think i'll have to teach you how to design Subnets ;)

Listen Graffiti As u know IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique identifier for a node or host connection on an IP network. An IP address is a 32 bit binary number usually represented as 4 decimal values, each representing 8 bits, in the range 0 to 255 (known as octets) separated by decimal points. This is known as "dotted decimal" notation ok.
    Here is an Example 140.179.220.200

Every Single IP address consists of two parts.. one identifying the network and one identifying the node...OK The Class of the address and the subnet mask determine which part belongs to the network address and which part belongs to the node address.

There are 5 different address classes. you can determine which class any IP address is in by examining the first 4 bits of the IP address.
Class A addresses begin with 0xxx, or 1 to 126 decimal.
Class B addresses begin with 10xx, or 128 to 191 decimal.
Class C addresses begin with 110x, or 192 to 223 decimal.
Class D addresses begin with 1110, or 224 to 239 decimal.
Class E addresses begin with 1111, or 240 to 254 decimal. You cant use this Class ok

I'd like to tell you that this material is also Available on NET!
lol.... you can Visit This Website http://www.ralphb.net/IPSubnet/subnet.html
Thanks :P I hope you wont mind at all. :(

  11. Wow...haven't been checking the forums for awhile and my post raised so much discussion?
The problem i posed is long gone now. There doesn't seem to have been another virus/worm attack at all. By the way, has anyone tried PC-Doctor before? It came pre-installed on my dad's laptop (bought it like 5-6 years ago) and it seemed to work perfectly during the first 2-3 years of use. Then we switched over to Norton, and it wasn't any better.

Thats true you havent been to forums for so many days but the problem still exists :( This Issue is not yet Over.

  12. WEll, I pay about 300 RS (PK) for an Extreme dialup per/month and i am gettingonly 8 KBPS/ SEC Can you guys imagine? ISP's Prices are very High here in Pakistan. Poor people cant afford these high tec prices. :( and i am one of them :(..We have DSL Running in Our Area but you'll have to pay about 2 US Dollar for 30 minutes only and cablenet Sucks in Pakistan and DSL is not very Common what can you do?

  13. Well a good FREE online resource for those that are beginning to learn PHP is called Practical PHP Programming. It is up to date and includes PHP 5. I use it when I am indoubt about certain PHP features. I would suggest though that if you want to learn PHP and MySQL you will need a operatin server on your machine. XAMPP or WAMP or if you have a Mac then MAMP all will create and install a webserver with PHP and MySQL and with XAMPP you get Perl and also the ability to switch between PHP 5 and PHP 4.

I have Visited that website its pretty good and very informative
    thanks alot

  14. I'm not a big fan of offline email managers, mainly because they aren't very useful at all unless you're using a travelling laptop or PocketPC. It's not very hard to excess webmail online and only takes a few seconds even for a dial-up user. (minutes maybe?)
Even so, i have to comment on the design of the latest "Live" Windows programs. It is nonetheless fancier and boasts more function than its predecessors but it still lacks flexibility. I wouldn't be surprised if there will be ads being squeezed all over the programs.

Microsoft should also give in to the other 80% of the world not using Hotmail or MSN anymore and start supporting other email services such as Gmail or AOL and AIM. Hotmail is so full of ads i should think it is considered "unclean" now. Plus, many American users still use America Online, which provides an aol.com email address, which they often use because of it's simplicity and seemingly endless storage (Should be 2 Gigabytes).

Microsoft had better buckle-up, the world is a rough ride for them now.

Despite all the security vulnerabilities over the years, the clunky interface, and the near-glacial pace of improvements to the program, I still use Microsoft Outlook as my sole email client. And I love Outlook.
So far I have used Outlook 2003 and it's stable, pretty fast, as secure by default as anything else, and has the ability to plug extensions right into the UI. These things are not true for other email programs.

  15. Well Test Complete lets u test Java applications that use the Swing, AWT, SWT or WFC libraries. These applications must be created with a development tool that supports one of the following Java virtual machines: MSVM - Build 3309 or later Sun JDK (or JRE) - version 1.1.8 or later BEA JRockit 5.0 For instance, this can be Microsoft Visual J++ 1.1 or later, Borland JBuilder 3.0 or later, Sun Forte 1.0 or later. When you start using TestComplete to automate testing of your Java applications, you will be able to access all private, protected and public methods and fields in the target application, without any changes in the application. The way you access objects of your Java application depends on whether or not these objects are visual.Available visual objects Java applications as well as properties, fields, methods and events of these objects are displayed in the Object Browser panel. To access visual objects of Java applications, TestComplete provides the SwingObject, AWTObject, SWTObject and WFCObject methods. The method to use is determined by the library that is compiled within the Java application. All of these methods allow you to address the objects by their name, or by the object's class name, caption or index. To access a non-visual object, you need to find a property, field or method of another object (visual or non-visual) that would return a reference to that object. You can find this property, field or method by exploring your application in the Object Browser. Non-visual objects that can be obtained in application code through static fields, properties or methods are currently not available in TestComplete.Additionally, with the help of TestComplete's industry first language independent scripting technology, you can construct (or record) test scripts using a language of choice. For those building Java applications, this means you will not be forced into using or learning a proprietary scripting language - your scripts can be written using a Java-like scripting language known as JScript. For further informatoion you can visit

  16. I ve news for you guyz u are far brighter than you think! Your brain, in its current state, has more capacity for learning, intelligence, and imagination than you've even imagined. In everyonet this includes you—there is a tremendous amount of unconscious perception, data, and data-processing; a tremendous degree of sensitive, acute intelligence which for various reasons is unengaged, offline from your focussed verbal, main, consciousness. Its primary way of handling information is in sensory images instead of words (the working language of 90% of your brain is these images. who do you believe :( You've had this powerful thinking mode from before birth, and used it until you were taught to "pay attention," look alert, and not to "daydream." :( Ask this, your own faculty, any question, and it instantly shows you mental images representing the best available answer. But most people haven't noticed, much less developed an effective system for interpreting what those images mean. The Einstein Factor provides you all that and far more! The good news is, that the Einstein factor is already within every one of us. The great news is, that this factor within each of us is so easily contacted, engaged and put to good use. New research by Dr. Win Wenger suggests that the superior achievements of famous thinkers may have been more the result of mental conditioning than genetic superiority. Now you can learn to condition your mind in the same way and improve your performance in virtually all aspects of mental ability, including memory, quickness, IQ and learning capacity.i Read it in some bookDr. Wenger has identified the tools you need to reach greater levels of sharpness, insight, and overall intelligence. Using Wenger's techniques, you learn to bypass inhibitions and access the supranormal capabilities hidden in your own subconscious. Discover how you can:- Read faster and learn more quickly- Solve problems like a genius- Score higher on tests ;) - Build self-esteem- Improve your memory- Induce a state of total creative absorption- Access powerful subconscious insights through visualization- Increase your intelligencewhat do you say about the above stuff which i have mentioned?
