  1. I was going to say that after using a desktop for 10 years, moving to a laptop is now a more feasible solution for me, just because I don't have a permanent address, and would like to create stuff on the go. Although I will have to agree with Mafamba Team's comment. Having both is the ideal setup, since a laptop is very expensive, and a cutting edge PC will always be cheaper.

  2. My dad uses a satellite phone to call me up, time to time, from guess what. The Sahara Desert. They are pretty cool devices, but signal acoustics should be improved if this is something that will be taking mass appeal. I can say that Satellite signals aren't much to talk about.

  3. I don't get this discussion. Nothing wrong with putting up a site with no content? Hello! Everything is wrong with that kind of attitude! Of course, unless that's what you really intended to do, you're better off learning how Search Engines work.

One site that I have found useful is http://www.submitexpress.com/ where they submit your site to 40+ search engines right away, but of course, most people will only use no more than 5 different search engines in a month.

Google takes usually a few weeks to fully get your site indexed. Yahoo's servers are much faster.

  4. @OpethianIf Indians started making movies solely on Hinduism and ancient Indian history, how many Indians do you think will watch those movies. Movies are mostly meant for recreation and that's what people expect them to be. Of course, in the dawn of Indian Cinema, many movies were made about the epics Mahabharat and Ramayana (in Black and White of course) but then slowly, as cinema progressed, times changed.

I see your point but unfortunately, I don't see the logic of having the majority of movies have the same theme, which is the same-voiced women and dance numbers the size of Chicago (The Musical) in an exponential sense! It's one of those things that, you'd have to be an Indian to understand, I guess. Same goes for the Chinese and their martial arts, it's overkill!

But I'm getting off topic, my apologies.

  5. You wouldn't believe what the other things out there are.The Internet has made information sharing an easy task, and because of this, you get a lot of garbage too, unfortunately. If you can think of something, somebody has probably done it, and to a degree, probably took photos, or even *gasp* captured some video footage. What am I talking about?Umm... it has something to do with hotdogs being used as projectiles... :P

  6. I have read an article regarding LiNUX Gurus being the downfall of the OS itself. There are just too many newbies out there and a large portion of those newbs get shotdown apparantly for almost nothing at all.I think it's an elitist attitude, as being a person knowing a lot about LiNUX (pardon my spelling, LoL), they took the time to learn it, and probably have something in their life making them grumpy, like say their GF suddenly decided to go Vista... or sumthin... ;)Anyways, I think "no pain, no gain" applies here. You want to learn the best OS out there? You have to earn the respect then. Everyone starts out as a noob, in one form or another. I know I was, and somewhat still is, to a certain extent. :P

  7. It's nice to see that there are DA's here as well! I am also a member of th community there and you view my works via the link at:

    http://foreverburningflames.deviantart.com/

I use Terragen, Apophysis and several other forms of generating art. I find it very relaxing to create pieces and my favorite form of photography are nature scenes.

DeviantART surely is a goldmine for talented artists!

  8. I tried Notepad2, NoteTab and even TextPad among the almost dozen free programs out there and nothing beats the effectivity of NotePad++. I am using it in an almost daily basis, the only limiting factor being that you can't create cool scripts internally with it. But the tabbed interface and the exclusion of a huge and confusing options menu leverages that out.

  9. You can try all of those programs but I'll rather save you the trouble. :PThe best one so far, has been WinRAR for me. IZarc can be a good candidate, although 7-Zip exceeds it because it "feels" like a better overall package, although I have experienced lousy compression with 7-Zip at higher settings, rendering my archives useless. If space isn't that much of an issue, I will recommend the newest version of WinZip, it has the fastest engine out there!

  10. This is a very rough request! There was a lie detector program available for mobile phone and I even had a friend that got into a ifhgt with his girlfriend (now his ex) because of this. There are several things that you may want to think about before requesting such a thing. First, how in the world will you be using something like this? Are you talking about guides on how to become a "human lie detector"? Second, what are you going to use it for? Maybe you're just paranoid hehe!

  11. Where can I get Microsoft Frontpage express and a full version of a mpeg4 or avc converter?

And what is a good email program and a good website builder?

FrontPage Express is an outdated program, try going for NVU:

    http://www.nvu.com/

Regarding email clients, I second Thunderbird:

    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/

    :P

I think you'd be better off with SeaMonkey since it has a built-in webeditor and a browser at the same time. Download it at:

    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/
