Living Room PC Getting Low To No Wireless Signal
demolaynyc replied to WeaponX's topic in Computer Networks
yea you should check the network card of your pc. also try moving the router outside the room see what happens. another one move the new pc out and place the old one see what kind of connection it gets. -
It can happen and it did. People who are so into their tasks forget the feel of hunger, drowsiness, and all other ones. I was playing ghost recon once and i got so into it i couldn't stop. the games were long but they seemed so short because of the excitement. my uncle is a programmer and he forgets to eat because he lost his appetite from it. he skipped meals during the day if the problem is big in the scripts. so yeah, it can happen.

i give it a 10 out of 10 because it's got everything! you can shop in froogle, get directions from maps.google, news, sports, health, search engine. it's the most used and has the best search results than the other ones.

If you want to spice up your webpages, you can't just use HTML alone and notepad. You'll need pictures. I use Photoshop CS2, Dreamweaver, and Flash. Those three will make your site look professional. I'm just starting at server side scripting, specifically PHP. I suggest you use photoshop to design a layout and then slice them up into tables or divs and use flash for animation. use server side scripting for guestbooks.

I see, so I guess I was doing the same thing others were doing to make the images a background. I thought there was an easier way of doing it such as making them as backgrounds in photoshop, but I guess the coding method is what other people do. Thanks for the help.

Okay, I just got the new version of Photoshop (cs2). I tried slicing my webpage layout. I found a way to export it as an html but the thing is i want to know how you guys export or save your psd files as html.Another problem I have is that when I open up the webpage in Dreamweaver, the DIVS are filled up obviously because of the sliced up images. Is there a way to but text and images over the DIV so that the layout image would be like a background? What I tried doing is editing the DIVs and making their background the sliced image and then put text over it. Is that the proper way or is there another way of doing this.Problems need to resolve: 1. Saving PSD as HTML 2. Putting in text over the DIV layerI need help ASAP

Well... I still think he should go with Xisto. Because he doesn't need to be as active as he think he is... I think. One of the guys in Xisto posted an article saying that if you can't keep up with the posts, or if ur temporarily going to be not posting, then they tell you to put one of their ads on your webpage (homepage). But if he can't post at all then a good web host is 100webspace.net . It's my previous web host and it's really good. It's got 100mb webspace, PHP-enabled, FTP/Web, good bandwith, EMail accounts, and a lot more. The only thing that made me stop is because of the annoying little banner at the top. So when I found Xisto and it says that there are no ads, I immediately transfered to this. I've only been in Xisto for a week so I still gotta get some points for my website.

Photoshop is the best. I started with Photoshop and tried PSP for a while. When i compared the two, PSP was so much harder and it wasn't that useful when editing my pictures. I recommend photoshop not because it's used by many professionals but it's because of its simplicity yet high quality productions. It's so much easier to create layouts in Photoshop unlike the others i've used.

For web design, I prefer to use these three programs: Adobe Photoshop CS+ , Macromedia Flash & Dreamweaver. I use photoshop to design the page layouts, and flash to create a flashy header. Then i use dreamweaver to put everything together and add the content. It sounds simple but it's hard... I still can't finish my site because I can't stick with one good layout.

Where Can I Find Free Ftp Uploaders ?
demolaynyc replied to marco1405241510's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I prefer using internet explorer or the windows explorer by typing in the format: yourusername%3Apassword%40domainhost.com . Its much faster and easier because it's just like managing files in your My Documents folder and you don't have to download any program to do it. All you need is an internet connection. Don't use the smartftp programs and the other ones. Just keep it simple and use the simple formula. -

that's exactly the same router i'm gonna get sometime hopefully this month if i have the time to go to the store. I think it's a good router. It can be used by both gamer desktops (Wired) and web surfer laptops (Wireless). This is just what I need here at home.

Wired LAN Vs. Wireless LAN What is the best?
demolaynyc replied to christophertinker's topic in Computer Networks
I'm hoping to get a router soon for my two computers. They're both desktops and They will be both used for gaming. I'm planning on getting a wired router combined with a wireless so in case i get a laptop, i don't have to worry about plugging in anything. Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe that wired LAN would be more suitable for desktop pc's especially if they're going to be used for online gaming because connections are faster. Wireless LAN would be more suitable for laptops mainly used for internet surfing and instant messaging and emails. So, if i put the two together I think it'd be a good combination wouldn't it? -
Good Site To Download Web Templates ?
demolaynyc replied to chris1234's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I love templates like Template Monster and EntheosWeb. Their photoshop layouts combined with flash headers inspired me to make a similar web layout like theirs. I didn't really like paying for web layouts, instead I prefer making them myself, because I'm cheap as hell. I have the money but I wouldn't want to spend on something where I have the potential to make one. Plus it would increase my web designing skills cuz it might be my future occupation. Do webmasters or web designers make a lot of money? -
I have a question about slicing. Isn't slicing used to make image links? I have both Photoshop CS and Dreamweaver 8. I know a good enough amount of making Photoshop web layouts but instead of slicing, I use the Marquee tool to copy and paste areas and save them as individual .gif images. Can you tell me what the difference is between slicing and my method?

Is It Worth It To Get Gmail ? Is Gmail Good?
demolaynyc replied to wazzupster0204's topic in Search Engines
I use both GMail and AIM. They both have excellent storage. Both have about the same storage space (1gb). GMail is on top of Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail. But in my opinion doesn't beat AIM because to me, I use aim alot and whenever i get a new message i'd get a reminder. That Gmail doesnt' do for me. They have a program that does tell you but it takes too much memory and it bothers me that it's in the start up area.
