ok i have used the following code in my upload.php file Code: $uploaddir = '../photos/';$uploadfile = $uploaddir . basename($_FILES['userfile']['name']);echo '<pre>';if (move_uploaded_file($_FILES['userfile']['tmp_name'], $uploadfile)) { echo "File is valid, and was successfully uploaded.\n";} else { echo "Possible file upload attack!\n";} using ../photos/ as my upload DIR works, as the file does upload, but when i echo $uploadfile on the same page: Code: <img src="http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ echo $uploadfile; ?>" alt="uploadedfile" /> IE wont show it as it has two fullstops before the photo dir in the domain e.g : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ it works in firefox, as it removes the two full stops, but IE isnt having any of it. any ideas? I Hate Cell Phones Being unavailable rules
romulo1405241517 replied to Sarah81's topic in Science and Technology
I’d really like to know what the big todo is about having a cellphone. I don’t have one and I manage just fine, but people that find out I don’t have one treat me like I’m some kind of idiot or from the backwoods. I was at my sister’s house on vacation last year and needed to call my husband and she wouldn’t let me use the regular phone, told me I had to use her cell phone for the free minutes, and I couldn’t even figure out how to turn the damned thing on. I really got steamed with her and her friends that were there laughing at me like I was tardo. What should I say to these people without being too rude when I’m faced with this kind of situation? -
GamePad Recommendations? Looking for a decent USB controller

Unfortunately my Logitech Wingman Extreme seems to have died on me! I`ve had this gamepad for about five years and its served me well.I`m sure that things have moved on but what I like about this gamepad is the "tilt" sensor - you don`t need to touch the pad buttons - just tilt it left and it will sense this and move you left in your game or whatever. Tilt it right and...you get the idea.Anybody know of any current gamepads (preferably cordless) which have this function? I`m told that the Saitek P880 will do this? -
Firewalls Anti-virus, Anti-Spyvware and firewalls

Well BlackCat, you know how many programmes are, sometimes they work well on a system ,sometimes on another. On mine it doesn't work well, although i think that has great potential for newbie users, because it uses the simplest vocabulary i 've seen till now and also warns the newbies not to activate the "expert" mode (rule based) if they don't know what they 're doing..But maybe in another person's system it will have better luck. Also in their website they have a .pdf manual where you can get a very good idea of the sections since they have many screenshots. My PC runs on Win XP Sp1a fully patched,Athlon XP 2500+,768 MB DDR RAM.I uninstalled the previous firewall, restarted, used registry cleaner, installed this one, restarted, connected to the net.Only applications that were running using the net were Firefox,a mail notifier,KAV and svchost of course. And my setup is pretty clean because i formatted 2 weeks ago.Well... -

I hve been using AVG for over 2 years now and the new version is very nice and very competitve in features with other virus protection packages. Also, since installing AVG my system has not fallen prey to any virus activity whereas the systems with Norton and McAfee where I work and are kept full up to date have been the victim of several successful virus infections.

Interesting Things to Know about MySQL ! Some query results are much more readable when displayed vertically, instead of in the usual horizontal table format. Queries can be displayed vertically by terminating the query with \G instead of a semicolon. For example, longer text values that include newlines often are much easier to read with vertical output: -----Copied from http://www.advogato.org/person/robhudson/-----szupie
