  1. Have you used the tv before with a pc? or have you used that cable before and it worked properly? While the tv works fine, the jack on the back could have an issue, or the cable could be screwed. Neither are likely causes as I would also assume a driver issue, but you never know.

I have done what both of you have suggested and there was no difference with different cables. I used a new set which were never used and still the same problem. I also tried the omega drivers. they made a small difference the output to the tv looked better still a little jumpy but better although the red was oversaturated and didnt meke the image look good. i think ill just forget about it either i will go back to nvidia or just buy a dvd player and plug that to my pc.

I will have to admit i have not checked those in a while. although before buying this video card i have an old GeForce FX5200 i was using the same cables and it worked better. ATI's drivers are horrible. I thought they got better! Serves me right for switching i should have bought another nvidia based card :D

  3. I used msconfig to delete a couple non-essential programs from the startup. I've done this many times before and never had problems with it. However, the other day I tried it and when I rebooted my computer, almost nothing worked. Flash drives wouldn't recognize, the sound card in device manager was supposedly working properly, but if i tried to play anything it would tell me there was no sound card installed. The system slowed to a crawl, my virus scan, firewall, and pgp wouldn't start. I repaired the installation off of the original windows cd, and it fixed the sound problem, but then my network wouldn't show up, and device manager was a total blank. I happened to go into services.msc and there I found that every single thing was disabled. How on earth does something like that happen, and how can i prevent it from happening. It cost me hours of work to try and fix, and if i would have gotten any more frustrated, i probably would have resorted to a clean install.

next time you change something in that file you should back it up and save a copy of it. So if you screw up you can easily go back to it.

  4. Hi,

I've been without a sound card for quiet awhile (I think forever  :D) but just curious if they're really needed for gaming, I only use a headset. Though sometimes my Counter-Strike Source game will freeze up would a game freeze up due to 'too much sound' and because I have no sound card it can't render all the noise at once. Okay maybe I'm blabbering on a bit, to be honest I have no clue about the hardware aspect of computers.

But do you need a sound card now days?

I think the question is, how big a gamer are you? Do you play everyday? What kind of speakers do you have? I say if you have good speaker with 5.1 sound possible you should invest 50-100$ and buy one. You will get much better sound. However i would first invest in some good speakers. All the card does is emulate sound for your speakers. If your speakers are crap it wont matter what kind of sound card you have. I have creative Cambridge speakers, pretty old but i paid them over 200$ Sounds amazing. I think it would be just as good with on board sound if you have money to spend buy both if you dont invest on speakers first but beware what you buy and make sure you on board audio can handle them.

  5. Hello AllI am looking for help in PHP programmingI am starting a virtual airline. A virtual airline is a place where people who fly using flight simulators come together and simulated flying for a real airline. I need help as in what sites give free tutorials or what good books are out there where i can learn. Keep in mind i will also be using mysql. With many databases it should be fairly complexe. I will be calculating hours that pilots have flown, giving rankings according to the hours, then also simulating the airlines finances. As in every flight the airline makes a set amount of cash and then when i buy new aircraft i spend money kind of like a virtual bank account. Sounds complicated. Can this be done? How long would it take for someone working on this alone? Any experts here that have an idea?thanksGianni

  7. trust me try microsoft anti-spyware its only in Beta right now, I mean i hate MS as much as the next guy but this software is really good not only is it free its terrrific hopefully they wont start charging for the final version reasons why its so good is that it warns when changes are being made to your registry due to spyware altering it its really cool and wouldnt trade it for anything

  10. A virtual airline is a simulation of a real airline where pilots join to fly specific aircraft on specific flights. I am doing this online cause you can meet people its just more fun. there are a ton of virtual airlines out there if you do a search on it you will find plenty of results, i have belonged to many, but i think its time i can make my own now, its hard work cause i need to learn php and mysql, so my pilots can enter theyre flight reports or have it done automatically anyhow if you still dont know what a virtual airline go check ou euroharmony.com its a great virtual airline that i flew with for a while

  11. if you want to play games the most important thing is the graphics card you will do a good thing switching to pci express much faster, if i were you i would also spend maybe 2-300$ on a new pci-e video card trust me its worth it much more important than the cpu, i would also change your cpu a celeron is no just good enough. I am running a 2500 AMD XP with 1 Gb ram and ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 2 years ago paid maybe 1400$ for all this and starting to run slow now, i think im do for an upgrade as well

  12. Hello allI am going to be starting a new virtual airline with my forum creditsI was wondering if there was any avid flight simmers on this forum besides myself.the airline i am starting up will be called Echo virtual Airways. I have not decided on any hubs yet. but i have thought of a few like Boston Logan, Atlanta HartsfieldI would start off in North America and then expand to europe maybe. The initial fleet will start with ERJ-135, ERJ-170, A320,the airline will fly online only through vatsim and we will have an automated pi-rep acars systemI would need help to start off is anyone interestedLooking for An Fleet Manager(aircraft painter), Hub Manager

  13. I wouldnt buy the nvidia card.I would wait for the new ATI's to come outthe Crossfire edition. better than the nvidia SLI'syou have to buy a crossfire motherboard just like the sli's for nvidiathe advantage is that with 2 ati cards that do not have to be the sameas long as 1 is a crossfire and pci expressthe 2 combine to enhance performence and quality where as the sli's from nvidiahave to be to identical cards from the same manufacturer and only combine to better performance the graphic quality is not better.that is my suggestion ! if its to play games spend it at the right place graphics card and mother board Crossfire go to tomshardware.com you can read all about how it works there

  14. Norton is the worst Anti virus ever, along with MCafee. if you want something good. PC-CILLIN. I was using Norton for a long time until i read some reviews on trend micro, they're website is awsome too. I am using an old version of pc-cillin 2004 i think or 2003 i got it free with my motherboard you can get the new version but 2003 works great there are updates every day and i have found viruses on my pc that norton never detected before. the only problem is that sometimes you find some weird trojan's that nobody has ever heard of before and trend micro's site doesnt have any info cause a trojan is not really a virus. right now i run pc-cillin with ms anti spyware, and with these two together i cannot go wrong i am alerted instantly as soon as a change is being done to my registry and i can easily prevent it from being done.

  15. I was just about to say "akijikan" this thing has been out for quite awhile now.....longer that I live in Hong Kong but still it's really expensive just to have taht damn horse on yoru laptop I mean it's nice but completly and stupidly expensive but I guess if your own a ferrari you might want this laptop and if you GOT a FERRARI your RICH so why not jack up the price on the laptop too? Well thats what I think their thinking but thats my opinion

    1064331896[/snapback]

you dont have to be rich to by it i dont know where you are but in canada it sells for about 2000$ CDN its not that expensive when you think about it and when you look at what is in that laptop, i think its actually good but you can get better with the centrino, cheaper and just as efficient no need for 64 bit processor yet, its useless right now. im a ferrari fan and if i had money to burn i would buy it but just for the look.
