I've used only iPod and I can asseverate that it's very good and the earphones too. But I've heard that iRiver and Creative are also good!

Although I use Windows XP I strongly recommend using Ubuntu 6.x - it's very user-friendly and if you've never got touch with linux it would be easy for you to get used with the os. I've used Joomla only because there are many templates for it. But I think that the old Joomla (Mambo) is better than Joomla as CMS. I think that e107 is the best CMS, but this is my opinion
