  1. Basicly what I have is FP which came with the Microsoft programs. Then I have Macromedia MX 2004 (Flash,Dreamwaever,Fireworks). These were free trials that expire in 30 days, but I found a website that has serials codes on it, so it looks like I bought the full version. The problem I had in the past was with the free trials is you can't reinstall them after they expire. I had an issue where my clock on my computer was wrong, so i fixed it. It changed the date the trial expired, so I had a 30 day free trail for 3 days.
  2. I don't know what all the fuss is about Frontpage. I don't have a problem using it. But I have both FP and DW. I use FP normaly because it loads quicker on my computer than DW. But if I'm using images with links in them that I created in Fireworks, I use DW because FP breaks the images up. Image resizing, banners, logos, I use FW. I tried Adobe but I felt more comfortable with FW. I've done a few things with flash but I don't really understand it. About the only time I use it, is if I need to add audio to an image. Other programs I use are Gold Wave, which is an audio editor that allows you to manipulate audio files and change their formats. I use Snag It, which is a screen capture program. And I use ACEFTP for uploading files.
  3. php is better. But I believe if you don't have mySQL set up it won't work. Like somebody else said, you can get free templates online. I've gottens ones from draac.com. They have 9 different ones. I've actually moved on from there. I feel I can create a better layout than the templates.Plus they haven't added any new layouts in a while.
  4. I learned html through a couple of different ways. The first is by "borrowing" other people's code. By clicking the right mouse button & veiwing the source. Another way I learned is from online sites. Site's like draac.com,offer tutorials as well as page design templates. Another way I learned was through the help guides on Frontpage & Dreamweaver.
