  1. I started teaching myself html about a week ago by taking a copy of the source code and the acual web page of random sites. I have been reading through the html line by line and attempting to line up the coding to what it did on the site. I did not have a free webpage at the time so I logged on to my old neopets account, created a guild, and started experimenting with the stuff I learned. I'm still rather new to html, but I have learned a lot in the time I have put into it. I would have to say that I rely most heavily on simple tables and absolute positioning to create what I need. Anyways, thats about that.Matt, the almighty Norwegian, signing off

  2. Well, I was not suprised when I saw that there was no thread about this game. It seems that not many people have ever seen or heard of it. In short it is a FF Tactics style game, with a few new innovations, and some very, very funny parts (Uber Prinny Baal anyone?). I fell in utter love with this game from the first moments when a random girl attempt to "wake you up" *cough*. The graphics are a sleek form of Tactics to give the rather new look, while still appealing to the old-school lovers like me. Anyways, I will explain more on my thoughts as I reply to your posts.

  3. PsP is by no means highly overpriced. Think of it this way? How much does an iPod cost? A little more than $100? And the PsP is a perfectly fine working Mp3 player with enough memory to get more than enough songs on it. Secondly, how much was that portable dvd player that some of us may have? Somewhere along the lines of $100-150? If seen a PsP play a dvd, and it is PERFECT picture. Now the PsP i BELIEVE goes for around $250 but I'm not quite sure. Now tack on the portable Playstation 1 1/2 (id say thats about the quality of it), and you have an all around entertainment system that is well worth it. It is expensive, but there is a reason why you can hardly find them in the stores anymore. Its the next big expense that I am saving up for. I know that some people would say they like the DS more, but if you are a fan of the Playstation, and are willing to save up a bit, go with the PsP. Plus if you are an RPG fan.... think of what is to come for the PsP, and then think of the games that will come out for DS. Its just a thought.

  4. your talking to the rogue master here. I was into the multiple thousand levels of the dungeon, fighting godawful @ symbols from morning to night with my valient @ symbol of a slightly different shade LOL. Ever since this game I have been scared to go near another DOS game, as I am afraid I will never get to school again LOLOL. I have not heard of NetHack, ADOM, Angband, or Zangband, but I'm sure they were very evily addicting LOL. Call me an old-school lover but its the truth, there is a reason why so many people made and still make variants of Rogue.

  5. I started playing in iro about a few months before Comodo (i think thats the beach town thingys name) came about, and stopped playing recently. I have a lvl 99 vit knight, a 99 sb katar/double fortune sword hybrid assasin, and a lvl like 82 priest, along with a low level merc for vending. At that point the game got a wee bit boring LOL. I never got used to the new towns and such, and I think thats about what knocked me over into not playing anymore. I have about a month left on my membership, and my brother paid me $10 to take the account till it ran out which was fine with me. The characters were not too well drawn but I just kept the cool images of the characters on the official site in my mind LOL. The economy has worked itself out rather well, but it will take forever to get the best stuff (i had 2 of the legendary items... the boots and the belt ). Anyways, ya its a great time waster if you make a goal to get thors equipment or something. Altogether it is one of the better MMORPG's that you don't buy any software for.

  6. Its one of the better, free, online games out there. I believe it is illegal to sell accounts and items for real cash, but I'm not one to pry (just thought you may look into that). Anyways, my account name is runemidget, but as of late I have not been on very frequently, feel free to sign me on as a friend, and next time im on ill pm you.

  7. Heres my opinion on the matter. Robots will never be true humans. True human must be born from humans, not made by them. If robots are ever designed to have human feelings and can think on their own, they still will not be accual humans. Now the point I would like to bring up is that if this ever was the case, why would it matter if they are biologically human or not. If humans create robots with human feeling and emotions, the robot should be accepted as a member of society which comes with all human rights, and human rules. I personally do not believe they SHOULD create said robots, but that is slightly out of my control.

  8. Too be frank, It's not very good. The battling is horribly done, and everything is very very monotonous. The only way I could stand to play it very much was with a thief, because stealing things from right under people noses was pretty fun. Altogether I would NOT recommend this game to anyone who was thinking about it, unless of course you don't really care about the quality, and just want a time waster to widdle away the hours of the night.

  9. So am I right in saying that you get at least 1 hosting point for each post that is of decent length and content? Because if I am, what are you complaining about? If I felt like it I could get 30 creds today. I started today and have posted about 10 times, and thats only because I wrote very extensive messages. Anyways, thank you Xisto for the upgrades.... much appreciated. Lastly does anyone know if there is a max file size for the uploads??

  10. It was a very easy game. The only way to have it be half-way difficult (this is excluding Sephiroth) is set it on the hardest mode possible by answering those questions in the right way and such. But I enjoyed the game very much, and it was a great attempt towards the real time 3d fighting.

  11. I personally found FFX-2 far too simple. I generally dislike sequels, and this one...Hm. It almost seems to me like Square is just pumping out games for money, rather than creating something really up to their level.

I actually did enjoy playing it, though. I hate when people refuse to play a game just 'because it is a Final Fantasy and all Final Fantasies suck and I am saying that even though I have never actually really played one!'. I see that all too often hahaha.

I am getting really tired of the people who refuse to play it just because it is an FF title or just because the girls are wearing the costumes they have. I think the costumes are really cute, actually. People are missing out on Square's ever-changing systems. Sphere Break is great fun, the mission system worked surprisingly well and was not at all annoying, and the speed of the battle system really had you going. It is a lighthearted and enjoyable game, and too bad people are missing out on it just because they feel they are too cool to be seen playing a game like FFX-2. It is really corny, really way too easy, but still fun when you have nothing else to do.

God, I've been a member of these forums for a matter of hours, and so far every time I see a post by you, you are on the exact same line of thinking as I am LOL. FFX-2 was a disapointment, but still a good game. It had some unique things in the battling and travel that had me stuck to it for a while, but it just is not near my favorite game. Most people who say it sucks either haven't played it, or are STILL COMPARING ALL SQUARE SOFT GAMES TO FFVII. It just annoys me when people think that games are horrible because they aren't as good as FFVII. Thats like saying that Muhammad ali is weak because Hercules is stronger. Anyways, to make my point simple and clear, it's a slight dissapointment coming from SquareSoft, but still a relatively good game

  12. I personally like each of them individually, but FFVII will always be the best to me. It was the first one I ever played, I loved the music and storyline, and the crappy translation and blocky sprites were just plain amusing. The bloody scene at Shinra HQ in the first disc had me shaking, and every time I heard Sephiroth's theme I got scared. That sounds lame, but hey, I was only about nine years old.

I am looking forward to Advent Children an immense amount.

I think FFIX has been greatly underappreciated, whereas FFVIII was greatly overrated. FFX was fun, but way way too easy. FFX-2 had the same problem.

They seem to keep declining in quality. Like to make up for the money they lost in their movie flop, Square has to focus on pumping out games to sell rather than quality games. The cash-in on the success of FFVII has been pissing me off. Dirge of Cerberus, Core Crisis, Before Crisis... ugh. They're milking my favourite game for all it's worth.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

EXACTLY my feelings. I've created threads on different forum sites about every single topic you put on here. I got a lot of hate mail when I made a thread about Squares decrease in quality games LOL. I am also awaiting the release of Advent Children, and I just pray to god they worked out what their audience wants. FFVII would be the best out of the series, and yes, Sephiroth scared me... especially during the movie scenes like when he sees genova. FF1X was a great game, and I have never found out why people don't like it. I got stuck at the final boss, whose name escapes me. FFVIII had an ok storyline with some interesting characters, but I could not get past how the battles had very little to do with stratagy, and more to do with summoning the best gfs, then hoping you get lionheart for the limit breaks.

  13. Through the horrible english translation and crappy blocky animation, FF 7 stands proud and strong as the best RPG out there. A runner up medal would have to be tied with FF Tactics and Disgaea:Hour of Darkness. I love the idea of valkrie profile, but it was outstandingly easy, so it does not rank as high as it very easily could have. I give credit to nearly all Square Soft games as being well done. And yes zelda is well done too. And on a side note, for lacking_imagination, zelda is what we call an action RPG, and yes, it is an RPG in that sense, but also not an hard-core, true-to-form RPG.

  14. Its an amazing game that not many people finish LOL. I finish it through and through about 5 different times, using different groups of characters to fight. Once you get a health ring or 2 the game becomes much too easy unless you do the side-quests LOL. I would have to say my favorite place would be the law city, as I was cracking up in laughter and agrovation as I new how annoying it was in real life. When you go through the multiple mazes of evil robots that do not wish for you to get a law passed, until you find the place you need to be and the tell you that you needed to go to a different place before coming to them, and send you on your way...

  15. my thoughts on the .Hack// series? First off, I just like the storyline and setting. Anyone who has played the game knows what if talking about. Secondly, its particular style of stratagy/real-time fighting is probably the best of said style that I know. Personally, I think it was a mistake on their part to not let you decide at the beginning of the games what type of character you would be, but it is not that big of a deal. The graphics are good enough, and there are plenty of different styles of dungeons and monsters to keep you occupied. All around, it was an above average game, but by no means the best I have played. And yes KitKat, all of us MMORPGer's are horribly addicted, and spend many an allnighter chatting and attempting to get those last million experience before the next level LOL

  16. "- Lots of characters" Can also be good, look at most MMORPG's (Anarchy online for one) theres 3 races, 3 alignments and 13 classes, and it is a Wonderful game. and then there is NWN (Never winter nights) Which is baced on D&D, that game has lord knows how many classes but it still manages to get hundreds of people to play online on their confusing maps and servers.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I agree, a lot of characters opens the game up for you to decide you're own unique stratagy for fighting (a good example of this would be Chrono Cross). In some games, having a lot of characters allowed for a few different endings depending of if you met so-and-so, and quite a few side stories to look at (once again i refer to Chrono Cross).

  17. It is always nice to see some well made "old-school" style games when it comes to RPG's. Things like "Disgaea" are always greatly sought after for the RPG community. Just make sure that you put knew things into the game so it does not because a new version of an old game. What I mean by this is, for example, Disgaea had the geospheres which, aside from making the game amazingly confusing when going into high level items and such, added an entire new aspect to FF Tactics. Also, it does not have to have as bad of graphics of the old-school games. It's is kind of hard to explain, but compare FF Tactics and Disgaea to get what im thinking of. God I love those Prinnys LOL. PEOPLE WOULD FLIP FOR AN FF TACTICS STYLE GAME ONLINE!!! To add on to this, make sure there is some walk-around space, like in Disgaea's castle. And its must be challenging, the Tactics style games become very boring if they are not hard. FF Tactics discovered that they could keep it really hard by leveling the bad guys up as you level up, try something similar.
