If you have the bandwidth try downloading the Microsoft Express products. They are full development systesm that do not lack power given the price (free)I use them at home to test code that I will use the next day at work.

Sony's Playstation Portable (PSP) may become the video equivalent of the Apple iPod and that PodCasting may have a new challenge: PSP-video-casting.Some possible uses are adding a WiFi card for wireless internet access, GPS for portable mapping system, electronic superbook.Or adding a camera to make it into a no-tape camcorderDo you think this will happen ?

I think videos are exculed, they very rapidly would put you over your site limits (especially bandwidth)
There is a system somewhere that hosts such material and you can link to it. It was mentioned in the forums on http://www.aardvark.co.nz/ a week or two ago

I'm here to get myself some free space
but i really have no idea what's going on
I'm trying to find somewhere to throw an AMV or 2 that i made, so i cna play them on my MS homepage and elsewhere, but I have no idea how to set up my account here so i can do that
i know there are sites like http://www.animemusicvideos.org/home/home.php that let you host for free, but i havn't figured out how to set one up to play from there
right now i just need to know 3 things
1: Will this work for my purpose when i get my account?
2: if so, how do i go about setting it up? (you don't have to write a 5 page reply, just a simple "PM me when the time comes and i'll give ya a hand" would be kewl)
3: does this kind of post get me credits?

Most low cost modems are known as winmodems. These rely on Win32 to do all the smarts for the modem, the hardware is rather primitive.
Most "full modems" are usable. Best to try various systems with a Live Linux Disk (i.e Knoppix on CD" and see what works and what does not
I had the sudden urge to connect to the internet on my linux machine. Unfortunately, the modems I have, linux would not detect. Is there any modems out there that my linux machine will detect? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are interested have a llok at the beginning videos for LearningVisualStudio.net. They are excellent in showing how to approach this language.
Well, .NET has a great power on programming web sites... Is true that C is most cross OS language, and that C# is a windows-only language... But with SDK's like mono yu can run it on Linux, so is not that tied up to Windows...
Has a great set of libraries that help you make almost everything more easily...
I like it better than C+ or C++ 'cause it has a easies and more understandable sintax...

Camtasis is available (an earlier edition) on some magazine cover disks. It does seem easier to use than some other packages I have used.
hola.. this is my first post and i dunno what to write about.. well, maybe i can talk a lil bit about the software used for screen capturing.. i have been using camtasia since last 3 weeks.. and the result is pretty nice..
camtasia is a program to capture everything on your screen.. image, videos and so on.. you can convert these images and videos into another format like .avi, flash, and so on..
for me.. camtasia is one of the best software for screen capturing..

With all the pre-built and pre-installed web CMS given by Fantastico I generally do not bother to do any page development.

Is there a lot of difference between confessing to a priest and confessing to an analyst.
At least one confession is privaleged
I think the modern interpretation is that the absolution only counts if you TRULY repent your sins. Otherwise it was a false confession. However, you are correct(as far as I know) in that what you described was how it used to be.

Problem is separating "bundled" from "free"
I bet the course fees would be some $100 less if they were not giving away "free' academic XP
oh yeah, and to the guy who posted above me. Most universities in the US that I know people from and the one I'm currently attending give Windows XP Home Edition away.

The Millenium Bug was marvelous, gave me a tour of the country looking for it
Notice how "experts" and "consultants" move from one item of scare to another. With Y2K it was "all care, no responsibility" and they could not lose.
Like the millenium bug (or Y2K as you Americans called it). I can remember there was a load of panic about it. Everyone was worried about absolutely everything not working, planes crashing, banks loosing everyone's money in a massive computer fault, etc, etc.
In the end, practically nothing happened. It was really silly.

For those of us "oldies" on the forum , perhps the best way to guess at what the world will be like in twenty years would be to look at the predictions made 20 years ago, and see how many came true and how many fizzled.I will see if I can get a paper from that time, and see what predictions were made in 1985.As I remember aside from major changes in technology (Internet, PC's, Biotechnology, Genetic) things were not that much different. And many of the fears at the time did not come to pass.Regards

Or a better question, how are you learning XML today ?

Here in NZ, and in Australia, today we are celebrating ANZAC day. This is the day when we remember not a great victory but a crushing defeat , incurred at a foolish invasion of Turkey by Australian and New Zealand Troops (under the orders of an inept British Command)A third of the troops from the Antipodeas were lost, for no benefit or gain. A equal or greater number of Turkish troops also lost their lives defending their homeland. It is a day we have a holiday to remember the fallen, and the stupidity of war.I wonder is this unique to New Zealand and Australia or do other nations also "celebrate defeat" with a national holiday ?

Trouble is you need the "free browser plug-in" to access the fake domain names.
And no commercial organisations will put thier network at risk with such plug-ins.
Not really a good idea, pay a little amount for a true domain which works anywhere for anyone
At their Site, for a limited time, you can register up to three domains for free, this applies to all catagories.
It's pretty good, I just registered wandering.goddess, serene.designs, and angelic.anime for free.
They offer DNS as well, but I think the domains can only be registered up to one year...
must say I took 2 free dotworlds domain names and they work fine. Process is not difficult. Forwarding is great/simple/quick and I can change it any time.
Also My friends can all see my new site (and I dont care about the other 50 million users who would want to visit my site anyway)
By the way, you DONT need any plugin to use the email addresses for these domains and they are unspammable

IrfanView is freeware only for personal use
If you use it without a licence in a company that is a no no.
I like IrfanView because it’s small and has tons of features. I would recommend it to anyone.

An offer appeared in a magazine here recently.
The advertisement was a "get a good domain name here" and for a reasonable sum offered you
"myname.nz.com"
(if I remember correctly-may have been net or something similar)
Looks good, when you find the name you want at "myname.co.nz" is already taken.
But if you look at the URL the domain is actually NZ.COM and all they were offering is a sub-domain and redirect off that domain. And still wanted full price for it.
Anyone else seen this practice in other domain areas?

What is the best content manager out there?
Answer is -depends what you want to do
Some are small in footprint (i. Siteframe and Xoops) orther larger.
Some will allow you to add module (phpWebsite and Mambo) other are all in one.
If you have only a small amount of space then I would suggest Siteframe, for more the Xoops, to emaulate an exisiting site then Typo3

Obesity, like smoking, causes the cause. Of itself it will not kill, but the icreased blood pressure that results will shorten life- in some cases. And Obesity is not the only cause of blood pressure. It all to do with risk factors and reducing them.

Has anyone sucessfully implemented this viwer in VB.net and managed to get the viewing portal parmaters from the activeX via the API.When I try and create an instance of the Renderer it bombs out(just does not execute the rest of the code in the form. I know it will be in the passing and settings of parmaters as i have had to turn off "Option Strict" to use the API.
