  1. SMF kicks *bottom* so much. Been using it for a couple days...administrating it is quite easy and adding new themes was so simple it's not even funny :)

TOok me literally less than 3 minutes to get 3 news skins/themes set up and available to choose from.

If anybody wants to see what the default smf forum skin looks like, view mine below. I have 3 other skins installed, so you can view those if you register and change them in your profile.

  2. How about https://www.hightail.com/. This allows send file up to 1Gb

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I didn't include that because while Yousendit does allow extremely large files, it is for the purpose of emailing only.

Which means that once the link has been download 3 times, or once 7 days have passed, the file is deleted. Which is not useful for anyone or anything, outside of sending a large file to one or two people :)

    Cheers!

  3. man!!!!

    30 hosting credits it's a lot!!!!!!!

how does it work.. if it goes below 30, then astohost will put my site down???????

anyway.. it's a great service, thanks!!!!!

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Bah..you're lucky...I had to have 50 credits to activate my upgraded package :(

No, once it is upgraded then you will automatically be dropped to 3 hosting creds. Each credit = one day that your site can remain up. If your hosting credits reaches 0, or a negative number, then your site will be temporarily suspended until you have at least 4 hosting credits again, at which point it will be reactivated.

If your site is suspended for more than 30 days, then it is deleted from the servers completely and irreversibly.

I believe that is correct, someone correct me if I am wrong.

    Cheers! :)

  4. Oh yea..sorry lol. It's for both PS2 and Xbox, forgot to say that. My mistake! :(I've visited a lot of Mercenaries boards though, and everyone says that the XBox version has about twice as good of framerate (60 as opposed to aroudn 30) and the XBox version looks better in general - better graphics, longer distance fog, and much less load times.Well..I'm sure it'd be fun on the ps2 also!ENjoy and cheers :)-ignition

  5. Actually, r8.org, cjb.net and .tk are not truely dns services...when you go to one of the sites they forward to and View Source it, you will see that it's not actually the page's source. A real DNS service provider should look invisible, not affecting your site at all.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    Nobody said "true" ;)

We said redirectors. Which is exactly what they are...of course you can still view the page source and see where the site is coming from, but I have no problem with that. As long as I don't have to type in such a long url, it's cool with me :(

Speaking of uni.cc though, is it back up yet? Anytime it will be back up? The site for it is simply http://uni.cc/, right?

    Cheers! :)

  6. I agree with the Homeworld 1 and 2. Both of those were simply amazing games...especialyl Homeworld (the original). At the time of its release, 1998 I believe, the graphics were simply amazing. The best you could find anywhere, and it took a new venture into the world of full 3d real time strategy games.Homeworld was definitely one of the best games to come out within the past 5 years...simply amazing. It still stands as one of the best space games, and best rts games also.As for today, I think the most addictive game is counter strike:source. It's amazing how much time one can waste playing it, especially when there are only like 10 maps for it. For some reason, in Counter Strike, playing the same maps over and over just NEVER gets old. You could do it for hours at a time, and still be looking forward to the next round :DI don't know how the CS mod team came up with that 100 percent addictive gameplay, but props to them for it. By far the most addictive modern game, IMO, except for MMORPG's (for those who are devoted to that gametype).Cheers!ignition :D

  7. There as an awesome media player that I recently found out about called Media Player Classic. Media Player Classic is by far the best media player I have ever found, for reasons besides the fact that it is open source and completely free.

Media Player Classic can play pretty much all media filetypes that you can think of, in image formats, movie formats, music formats, etc. It can open image types like .png, .gif, .jpeg, etc, play movies like .wmv, .mov (Quicktime), .avi, .ogm, etc. And it can play music files like .wav, .mp3, .ogg, .midi, and pretty much whatever else you can think of. I just recently found out that it can play .swf files also - a media player, that can play flash documents! MPC is awesome, it can play pretty much every type of media you could ever want.

It is a tiny program, you don't even have to install it. You just unzip the folder, which contains like 2 files, and one of them is the application. Just put it wherever you want, and you can open all types of media with it. You can also make your own custom logos for it Posted ImagePosted Image, for example I made the following one:

    Posted Image

Media Player Classic is the best small, lightweight media player I have found. I use it for everything pretty much...I suggest you all try it out. It seriously kicks *bottom* :D

You can download the latest version, 6.4.8.3., from the following page on Sourceforge:

    Enjoy, and cheers! :D

  8. I had a look at the back of the games to the DS. The graphics really sucks. And whats the use of a touch screen. Probably none.

    I go for PSP

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I own a Nintendo DS and Super Mario 64 DS, and I have to disagree with that statement :D

The graphics are terrific for a handheld. Sure, not quite as good as the PSP graphics, but look at the battery life on the PSP. Like around 5-6 hours, as opposed to the DS's 10-12 hours of gameplay. Super Mario on the DS is a blast, and the touchscreen works perfectly for maneuvering the characters. My only complaint is that the stylus is a bit small in my hands, as if it was made for kids or something.

The mini-games are also extremely fun, and make large use of the touchscreen, and playing wireless games on the DS is as easy and fun as it gets. Connects in seconds, downloads within and minute, and you're playing with a few friends. No hassle at all.

I do plan on buying the PSP sometime though, because the widescreen looks cool and, of course, it's the PSP. Why wouldn't I buy it? At least it's going to be starting out with a lot more games than the DS did ;)

    Cheers! :D

  9. Just a thought because I'm the worst newbie in ftp. For ftp accounts, when you create one for another person, does it mean the account takes part of your bandwidth and space and it becomes a whole new webhosting account but without all the features? Something like a file-uploading host? OR Does it make it so that your "friend" can access your files in YOU ftp? Sorry I'm quite a loser in ftp. I'm not sure about all of this ftp talk. Just know that it looks like "My documents" as in explorer =).

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

When you create an FTP account for a friend, you give them permission to upload files onto your account. You can tell them where to upload the files - such as in public_html/friend and they will only have access to that folder, so they cannot see or modify stuff in the public_html folder, but only in the folder that you ahve allowed them access to.

You can also give your friend's FTP account a "quota" of a certain number of megabytes, limiting the space they have to upload files to. In short though, yes, when you give a friend an FTP account on your site they will upload the files to YOUR site - and therefore take up your space, and consume your bandwidth if other viewers access those files that your friend uploaded.

Hope the helps! If you have any more questions, just post here.

    Cheers :D

  10. A lot of major sites have little icons that appear to the left of the URL in the browser. Xisto has the litts A symbol up there, Google has the large G, etc. The icons also appear in the bookmars menu.I was wondering how you put those icons on your site? I've looked through the cpanel, but couldn't find anything about it.Any help or whatever would be appreciated! Thanks, ignition

  11. oh WOW, I just noticed this thread and your site. This stuff is amazing man, awesome work!I also read through the tutorial on your site...great stuff. I don't know how you do it though, even with the pen thingy. All I have is a mouse, and I would die trying to do this stuff :DEverything looks terrific, you should hook up with some game mods and be a concept artist or something. I can do digital art, but not so much along the lines of making my own stuff/drawing, but rather digitally coloring and creating using brushes or other images. (hence my site, unreal wallpapers)once again, good work dude!Cheers, and keep it up :D-ignition

  12. lol there goes my chance at becoming Shrek 3 lol

I think I may just go back to coding, its a lot easier and free.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Haha yea - what do you need to code...notepad and a compiler? :D

I'd say that if you don't have a very specific reason to start learning 3d modeling (eg - making models for a game modification) - then it's best you don't try to learn. It's not a very easy thing to pick up, it takes time and determination to go through countless tutorials to learn the program. If you don't have a final goal, then chances are you're going to lose interest somewhere in the process of learning :D

  13. I hate it... :-) It's again a grey rts game, nothing innovating and nothing special. I guess it's the best lotr game, but that's not really hard is it? :D 2004 was a year of rts quantity, but not quality (apart from rtw and some others, but still...) BFME gets profits from the popularity of lotr, but is it worth it? I think not :D

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I agree...there were a bunch of RTS games that came out in 2004 but hardly any good ones.

The best one, IMO, was Warhammer 40 thousand: Dawn of War. The campaign on that was great, along with the races, units, graphics, AI, and everything else. Of course, nothing can beat Starcraft or Warcraft 3 for pure multiplayer fun..or even Total Annhilation (which is THE best RTS game ever made in my opinion).

I never got into the Battle for Middle Earth, it just didn't strike a chord with me. There are sooo many better real time strategy games out there ;)

    Cheers,

    ignition
