  1. I have changed to code to:

    function SendPassword($userName){global $db,$db_tables;//config.php	// set password for username to a random value	// return the new password or false on failure	$new_password = mt_rand();	$qry = "UPDATE $db_tables[Users] SET password=password('$new_password') WHERE user_name='$userName'";	$db->db_query($qry);	// send notification email	$from = "From: $from_email\r\n";	$msg = "You or someone pretending to be you has requested that your"  . "password be changed for your bookmark account hosted at http://$domain/$subdir\r\n\r\n"  . "Your account password has been changed to $new_password\r\n"  . "Please change it next time you log in.\r\n";		if (!mail($userName, "Login information", $msg, $from))	{    echo "ERROR : Unable to send notification email.  Please contact the <a href=\"mailto:$admin@$domain\">Administrator</a>";	}}

    Now it doesnt show it self made error message. But I don't get any mail from it. Anyway all usernames are email-addresses. I've tried to change

    if (!mail($userName, "Login information", $msg, $from))

    to

    if (!mail("linneuscool@hotmail.com", "Login information", $msg, $from))

    linneuscool@hotmail.com is my email-address. But it doesnt even work then.

  2. I'm trying to use the mail() function in a script. But it doesnt work. It keeps returning false.
    It's a premade script
    The code is:

    function SendPassword($userName){global $db,$db_tables;//config.php	// set password for username to a random value	// return the new password or false on failure	$new_password = mt_rand();	$qry = "UPDATE $db_tables[Users] SET password=password('$new_password') WHERE user_name='$userName'";	$db->db_query($qry);	// send notification email	$from = "From: $from_email\r\n";	$msg = "You or someone pretending to be you has requested that your"  . "password be changed for your bookmark account hosted at http://$domain/$subdir\r\n\r\n"  . "Your account password has been changed to $new_password\r\n"  . "Please change it next time you log in.\r\n";		if (!mail("$email", "Login information", $msg, $from))	{    echo "ERROR : Unable to send notification email.  Please contact the <a href=\"mailto:$admin@$domain\">Administrator</a>";	}}

  4. This one is really goodHaving a bad day?When you occasionally have a really bad day, and you just need to take it out on someone, don't take it out on someone you know -- take it out on someone you don't know. I was sitting at my desk when I remembered a phone call I had forgotten to make. I found the number and dialed it.A man answered, saying, "Hello."I politely said, "Could I please speak with Robin Carter?"Suddenly, the phone was slammed down on me. I couldn't believe that anyone could be so rude. I realized I had called the wrong number. I tracked down Robin's correct number and called her. I had accidentally transposed the last two digits of her phone number. After hanging up with her, I decided to call the 'wrong' number again.When the same guy answered the phone, I yelled, "You're an *******!" and hung up.I wrote his number down with the word '*******' next to it, and put it in my desk drawer.Every couple of weeks, when I was paying bills or had a really bad day, I'd call him up and yell, "You're an *******!" It always cheered me up.When Caller ID came to our area, I thought my therapeutic '*******' calling would have to stop. So, I called his number and said, "Hi, this is John Smith from the Telephone Company. I'm just calling to see if you're familiar with the Caller ID program?"He yelled, "NO!" and slammed the phone down.I quickly called him back and said, "That's because you're an *******!"One day I was at the store, getting ready to pull into a parking spot. Some guy in a black BMW cut me off and pulled into the spot I had patiently waited for. I hit the horn and yelled that I had been waiting for that spot. The idiot ignored me. I noticed a "For Sale" sign in his car window . . so, I wrote down his number.A couple of days later, right after calling the first ******* ( I had his number on speed dial), I thought I had better call the BMW *******, too.I said, "Is this the man with the black BMW for sale?""Yes, it is.""Can you tell me where I can see it?""Yes, I live at 1802 West 34th Street. It's a yellow house, and the car's parked right out in front.""What's your name?" I asked."My name is Don Hansen," he said."When's a good time to catch you, Don?""I'm home every evening after five.""Listen, Don, can I tell you something?""Yes?""Don, you're an *******."Then I hung up, and added his number to my speed dial, too. Now, when I had a problem, I had two *BLEEP*s to call.But after several months of calling them, it wasn't as enjoyable as it used to be. So, I came up with an idea. I called ******* #1."Hello.""You're an *******!" (But I didn't hang up.)"Are you still there?" he asked."Yeah," I said."Stop calling me," he screamed."Make me," I said."Who are you?" he asked."My name is Don Hansen.""Yeah? Where do you live?""*******, I live at 1802 West 34th Street, a yellow house, with my black Beamer parked in front."He said, "I'm coming over right now, Don. And you had better start saying your prayers."I said, "Yeah, like I'm really scared, *******."Then I called ******* #2."Hello?" he said."Hello, *******," I said.He yelled, "If I ever find out who you are...!""You'll what?" I said."I'll kick your *bottom*," he exclaimed.I answered, "Well, *******, here's your chance. I'm coming over right now."Then I hung up and immediately called the police, saying that I lived at 1802 West 34th Street, and that I was on my way over there to kill my gay lover.Then I called Channel 13 News about the gang war going down on West 34th Street.I quickly got into my car and headed over to 34th street.When I got there, I saw two *BLEEP*s beating the crap out of each other in front of six squad cars, a police helicopter, and the channel 13 news crew.NOW, I feel better - This is "Anger Management" at its very best.

  5. I really don't think Exeem is going to be the "greatest". Exeem searches slow. It may be only at my computer but i don't think so. I think i'm going to stick to bittorrent. I'm using The Pirate Bay. It's fast and got no wierd ads like all other sites. It's a swedish site. Swedish is a liberal counntry when it come to P2P. It's allowed. But that is going to change it about 3 months. And if you wants some good laughts, take a look at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/where they display all legal messages the have got and their answeres "As you may or may not be aware, Sweden is not a state in the United States of America. Sweden is a country in northern Europe. Unless you figured it out by now, US law does not apply here. For your information, no Swedish law is being violated."

  6. I'm not so expirienced in php. The only thing i done so far is editing a rss-feed script to my own needs. I have a php-book here at home that describes how to work with databases.I think I'll need to find some script that is near what i want and then edit it. :)

  7. I this one of those free link exchange thingie?

    I think you need to check with a moderator before you try this if you are planning to host here.

    Read the TOS with a fine tooth comb and ask a question about anything that is not clear to you.

    Itâs better to be safe than sorry.

    It's not a link exchange. It's to be like a startpage. Where you can put up your favorite links. And when you login with your username and password you can see your own links. You should be able to login via a cookie as well.

  8. Well, while your notebook may be in close proximity to the router and the signal strength is high, there my be interference from your other electronic components or other wirless networks in your neighborhood.

    Moving your router or laptop may help.  Switching the channel used by your network may help.  Checking to make sure your network card is set to full duplex mode will always help.

    Try your manufacturer's website for tips on setting up your home network.

    Happy networking, :)

    When i try to start the software that came with the pc-card it doesn't start. Nothing happens. The router and pc-card is by D-link. The only wireless thing I can think of is our phones. The base stands less that 1 meter from the router. Can that be it?

    I'm using encryption on the network.
