Namco brought the Time Crisis to the arcades and then exclusively for the Playstation. It is the first lightgun game to bring out innovation for which is known as 'the pedal'. Basically, the arcade machine has a pedal on the floor, the Sony games have buttons on the side of the lightguns that you can buy with the game or seperately. What this does is when you press down on the pedal with your foot, or the button on the side of the gun you can shoot the enemies, bullets limited, and when the bullets have ran out or if a enemy is going to shoot you then you will need to duck out of the way. By doing this you take your foot off the pedal or your finger off the guns side button and you will automatically hide behind a wall or a table etc. This will also reload your weapon so you can go back out shooting again. Loads of games have copied this, Ninja Assault, End Game and also other companies like Konami have tried bringing innovation to the lightgun games themselves like Police 911 (Police 24/7) with the new sensory movement system. The original was a classic in every respective and alot of hype came from it. The reviews were far from giving it bad marks and everyone was talking about it. The graphics were really good for its time but obviously after having the consoles we have now we can look back and complain it hurts our eyes. The storyline was reasonable for a lightgun game as well. Basically you, Richard Miller, infilatrate a enemies castle to rescure a girl Rachel, the mayors daughter their holding captive for ransom. This is the first shoot 'em up to hold a story. The sequel came in the arcades about a year before it came for the Playstation 2, which had updated and improved graphics. The original was immediately forgotten and this was hailed as the best shoot 'em up ever. Even though these was starting to be known for its short side, Namco decided to add mini games and challenges to the PS2 version. They also brought out another innovation which is a pure classic; you can either play solo or with another player by ilink. When you go to the arcades you will find the machine to have two screens, two guns and two pedals. Basically your character, depending which one your playing will go through different routes showing his perspective of the environments around you guys. This will add to replay vlaue, a genius idea. The storyline is something more advanced as you gotta stop a powerful guy from launching a nuclear satilite, by doing so you will engage in shoot outs on speed boats, fast moving trains, and villages. The music has been updated to a rock-style version which has the best music I have ever heard in the Time Crisis series. This is the best in my opinion.Crisis Zone was a side project for Namco, back to a one player game in the arcades it came with a submachine game which you can just hold your finger on the trigger and let her rip. The other innovative idea is your bullets interact with the enviornments making everything destructable. You can shoot through glass, balls, surf boards in sport shops and cds, posters, videos, tv screens in a music store in the shopping mall level. You will get the choice out of three levels, which order you do them is entirely up to you. The at the end is the final boss. I havent played it for the PS2 just of yet but screenshots look awesome showing the graphics are updated like TC2.Time Crisis 3 was a huge letdown. The graphics seemed to have improved but they way they use it doesnt come across visually nice at all. The music is basically the same with some new tracks that doesnt beat the first two. Also Mad Dog is back which is really becoming tiresome of shooting at him yet again. The environments are not creative, there are the occasional few good missions like when the train is dangling from a bridge and when you shoot the enemies they fall off and go down the cannyon as you hear their screams fade. They have a weapon selection system which the way it works is clever and simple as you can choose from the pistol, machine guns, shotgun and grenade launcher. However the guns apart from the pistol are limited and the only way you can get more bullets for them is by shooting the yellow color coded enemies that was onced used for extra points and time in the other two are now to get more bullets. The storyline is quite pathetic which I dont feel like explaining. There is however another story for the PS2 version that shows the whole game through Alicia's eyes which adds more depth and funner missions. Also she has a sniper which you can use on some missions, but for the rest you just use a pistol

Tony Hawks Series PS PS2 skateboarding game

Yeah I much prefer the story modes for the Underground games. Cant see them making a third though but... we'll see. I think Underground had the best storyline and went on longer than the second. The second didnt have much of a storyline at all, it was just an excuse to set up some jackass-style antics ingame and the fmv sequences. It seemed that I completed this half the time than the original. I dont really care much for the Pro Skater series as I believe they have ran their course. The reason why im sticking to Underground is, like i said, the storylines. I also like the innovation of getting off your board and climbing ladders and jumping over obstacles. When I play the Pro Skater games I keep thinking I can get off my board all the time. Underground would have to be my favourite. The storyline seems pure and simple and makes me think 'how are they going to keep this going' as when you think its all over another twist will take over encouraging you to play for longer. Its all about 'you' in tonY undergrOU as you manage to get your way from a local skater to the championships with your friend Eric. The environments are very creative and beautiful to look at. There are the occasional ugly backdrops that doesnt fit right whats around you but you wont pay any attention to that anyway. For some challenges, which is like the Pro Skater seriesas you go up to people for them to give you instructions, you can drive vehicles. Like one of them you have to avoid police cars as they time you, another one you have to wreck a car and drive it off the pier. I could only do this on easy, i suck if it was on any other option. The second Underground is still just as fun and may be more funnier but the storyline starts off nicely but seems not to go anywhere. Basically your the main character from the Underground original, your doing tricks on a ramp infront of locals and all of a sudden a van pulls over. Two thugs come out and kidnap you. You wake with a group of other skaters that are just as clueless as you. It turns out to be Bam and Tony as they invite all of you on a round the world destruction tour. Basically the team who loses has to pay for the whole trip. You end up on Tonys Team. But you keep switching over thanks to Eric who starred as well in the original, but gets just as what he deserves. Thats it... Thats the storyline. The graphics are a major improvement from the sunlight reflecting into the 'camera' to the grogeous to look at backdrops. The challenges are more wacky than the original, why not as this is supposed to be a slapstick game of humour. You can text messages through the missions, which are funny to read but rather pointless. Also you can now spray walls with your own signature, each charcter has their own. You can also tag walls with stickers. You will find more missions relies on climbings things. Every time you start a level, which are very nicely done, you will get a choice from skaters. You can then find characters through the missions, each having their own comical aspects. Example, one of them is Steve O which rides a mechanical bull, when you unlock him by finding him missions will be unlocked. You have to score certain amount of points by the challenges to go to the next level, which is why the characters you can unlock are there to help you out. Also each mission has something destructive which is the best thing I love about this game. However, they are very hard to find but worth your while after finding them. Example, one level has a bin set on fire, jump into it and your board will be on fire. Grind two cannons and you will set them alite causing them to shoot cannon balls to a building under construction and brings it down. This will leave behind carnage which you can skate across. This is very pointless but a hell lot of fun. If you havent got the Underground games, or have one than the other, then make sure you get both of them now! As you wouldnt know what your missing. -
I cant believe noone has made a topic of the Tony Hawks Skateboarding series! Im not much of a fan of skating but the games are something else! Never liked the first two for the Playstation, and it was only when the Playstation 2 came out that I actually started getting into them starting with Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 all the way to Tony Hawks Underground 2.Anyway I wont keep on about the game, just yet anyway heh until I hear what you guys opinions of what you thought about the game.

Donnie Darko was an amazing film. Ive only seen it once even though im aware in order to understand it I must watch it more times, but what I saw, and ended up leaving me confused thinking 'what the hell did I just watch', it was an amazing genre busting film. Frank the bunny is a classic and should definitely be put down next to Freddy, Jason, Myers... All the villains that we all know about.I also loved the Evil Dead series. The original was a classic and betters the other two in my opinion, the sequel was more of a sadistic comic cheeseball fest that even though I loved, I loved for all the wrong reasons, and the third was just... Well, a different genre! It was more like a comic action movie rather than being like the other two. I tried showing Evil Dead 2 to my girlfriend about a week ago cos it was on television but she made me turn it over after the part when Bruce Campbell shoots his hand and all that blood gushes out from the bullethole all over him lol

I think this is exclusive just for the Playstation 2. Has anyone played it? Its not as bad as what some of the reviews make out. Okay, its on the short side. In fact I managed to complete this within 3-4 days, and each time I was playing it was only for a hour or two and thats because it got much harder when your near to the end.Ill be completely honest and say I have never heard of this game before my friend recomended it to me. He said its a bit like Final Fantasy, even though it is made by the same company Square Soft, but has a twist. When I lended it off him I asked how long it lasts and he said it could easily take up to 4 hours of gameplay. So I guess for people who are more into this genre would find this more easier. Its a combination of action, adventure, fighting and rpg. The storyline isnt that good as what people might expect from this development company. Its all about these three bouncers at the Dog Street bar called 'Fate'. Their girl friend gets kidnapped by masked ninjas. One of the bouncers somehow knows where shes been taken, which is obvious when you get into the story how he knows all the info he tells us. So, the three bouncers decide to go and save her, the blonde haired is known as Volt, hes the butched hardman and comes very useful for information, then theres the puny one known as Sion which is the main character on the game that has a crush for the girl that has been kindapped, then finally Kou the long haired tatooed bodied guy that says most of the jokes. They soon find out why the girl is needed and soon they realize they must save the world as well as the girl. The game is very cinematic, in fact most of the game relies on cutscenes. Theres only about 20 short missions to complete, before and after are long cutscenes, which would help if the dialogue is good but it just aint. The jokes are corny that makes you cringe, the voice acting is decent than the rest I mentioned but still could of used some work. The graphics are much different in the FMV sequences, they are truly amazing to watch. The ingame sequences are just the same as the playable sequences which are good, better than some games I have played that year when it came out, but you cant interact with environments and some portions of the objects look blurry and not much detail put in than what other portions have.Basically its a beat em up, which you can collect points for beating the hell into the bad guys which you can buy life ups, power etc at the menu at the end of each fight. Most of the time theres 3 of you fighting, which has a cool-style for even though you can only play one at the time. At the beginning of each fight, fights can have more than 6 enemies coming out at you and are in a large environment, you can choose from the 3 characters. They each have their own story plots which is good to replay the game again three times, but after that its not worthy anymore.

The Suffering A Twisted Playstation 2 game
Dementour replied to Dementour's topic in Computer Gaming
I finally managed to complete it over a week ago! I ended up getting the good ending, which was little on the short side but helps with the story for the upcoming sequel. Apparantly theres 3 endings, the bad by not helping any of your prisoner inmates or guards that you encounter throughout the game, the good by helping them which gains you good points, or the monster ending if you morph into the monster one too many times. I never bothered trying again for the other endings, too much hard work But at least I will have some replay value off it in the future when I can be bothered to do it through again. It was surprisingly easy and on the short side to complete. I think there was 20 chapters altogether, some go on for a while when others wont take you that long at all. I would say for someone that didnt follow the walkthrough, as I had to to guarantee I would get the good ending, then it would take a average week to complete, if not then less. There was a variety of characters, let that be the monsters and the humans. In fact the voice acting and the dialogue was great which you could listen to them for ages rampting on about different things which gives them unique personalities which is very rare to find in games like this. The monsters were certainly creative, you couldnt compare not even one of them to other survival horror games which is certainly a good thing. Different types have different ways of trying to kill you, and when they do they each have their own 'finish him' kill moves. The bosses may look hard but their easier than what you think, some have a strategy which you need to use your brain in order to kill them, like the doctor which the only way you can kill is by finding and shooting hidden projectors. Others will only require running around and shooting at them.I suppose you could say there are 'puzzles' but they are the kind like handling cranes to small walls through or to push a vending machine at a drain so all the way that you released from a rooms sprinkler will not disappear but but out a fire thats blocking your only path. It isnt all just shooting and stabbing. The weapons range from shotguns, handguns, explosives of different kinds like grenades and tnt, and knives. Speaking of different paths you will have a choice of some, only some, chapters to go either long and dangerous routes which are easy to find or try to find a easier route with not so many enemies around.Overall this is a one hell of a game to entertain you, that is if you can be mature enough to handle its dark and very gory humour. -
Splinter Cell is a third person tactical adventure, not a first person shooter. I wouldnt say I prefer this to Metal Gear Solid, as im sure I can say the same for many others, but it is a classic in its own way. The ideas may not be original as you can tell Tom Clancy has been inspired by far of MGS but if anyone is looking for a challenge then I would strongly recomend Splinter Cell. It took me over a month to complete, the missions are repetitive and in the end I just couldnt wait to finish the damn game to move onto something else. A month for a game comes very occasional for me, I remember the time before that game that took me that loooong was The Thing for the Playstation 2.I did write a review for Splinter Cell but it got deleted when my computer went through its virus stage before I could even put it up on the game website I was working for. I would say its a must have for sneak 'em up fans that likes more of a brain buster than a brainless action game but if you prefer shooting people in a all-out action then you will become very disapointed.I cant wait to start playing Splinter Cell 2, havent yet played that, I havent heard much of the rumours and facts towards the third game, but then Splinter Cell isnt the type of franchise Im much into, or the genre.

I bought the Suffering a while back but havent played it until last night because ive been too busy trying to complete Headhunter Redemption because I hate putting down a game half way through it and start playing another one from fresh. The game is really good depending if you like your action adventure games, why would you be on this forum otherwise, and that you can handle its gory subject you go through. You go to prison, all for the right reasons (or are they) and as soon as you hit the cells the power goes out and all your cell mates around you are getting brutally butchered. Talk about being there at the right place at the right time! You manage to get out of your cell and basically the story is escaping from the maximum security prison from hordes of monsters as you wander through different sections, outdoor yards. The subplot however is finding out what really happened to your wife and child that you killed as you will get flash backs throughout the game. The voice acting is great, alot of swearing, f this and f that but if you can get through that if you dont get offensive easily. The violence in this is extreme, I would say its the same as Manhunt, if a little more gory. The detail to the environments and character design is great, not the best but better than a avaerage game. Theres plenty of characters good and bad on your survival adventure. You get pistols, spikes, shotguns... Havent gone any further to know what else you can get, im on chapter 4 at the moment. The main feature is not only do you have a life bar but a rage bar. When this rage bar gets full you can turn into a hideous beast with more strength and energy when your trapped by loads of monsters. The beats you have to kill are very imaginitive, alot more variety than Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Theres huge monsters with machine guns on their backs that shoot at you, monsters with needles coming out of their eyes and back which chase after you with one in each hand, monsters in stray jackets with huge razor claws etc.Like I said, if you can treat the subject of the game, the language and the violence maturally then you will enjoy this game. I will let you guys know how it is after I finish it which by the look of it should be one or two weeks depending on how much time I can get for it. It looks easy enough, but thats because I put it on easy

Just saw this film on rental today with my girlfriend, she didnt like it that much, she said it was good but I knew it wasnt her taste. But I found it to be so good that I might just buy it. Theres special visual effects and great stunt work all the way through it, you guys wont be disapointed. The storyline isnt so great, the acting is cheesy, some action scenes are over the top and some special effects are poorly done. But its still a fun slice of Hollywood that I recomend for all action lovers.

Does Anyone Play Pokemon? *not A Joke* ^^^^^^
Dementour replied to jwcgator's topic in Computer Gaming
I never saw the point in Pokemon, I think its because I dont like Manga animation. The action sequences were treated poorly and had too many characters to keep up with, most have pathetic powers. If its because there were too many characters then they should have kept a lowdown saw they could of giving them better powers etc. Personally I would say Yu-Gi-Oh is better but thats because I was forced to see the movie in the theatres with my cousin. I know it may be bit of a rip-off but it was more entertaining and I loved the characters more.I guess I havent really given Pokemon a chance, and to be honest I dont really want to. Sorry to those Pokemon fans out there but its just my personal opinion. I know its definitely ideal for some people because I see them with the Pokemon cards and other merchandise. But it just doesnt do it for me -
It was supposed to be the 'Halo beater' hyped by Sony which got everyone excited for over a year! However people found it to be a disapointment and said it might have been beater if they didnt keep comparing it to Halo to raise their expectations. I on the other hand havent played Halo, I want to get it for the PC but I know for definite I will never have the chance to Play Halo 2 for the Xbox because none of my friends has it I will most probably buy Killzone though cos despite the poor reviews I want to see for myself as everyone has their own opinions. I find when something is criticised I normally find it to turn out good so... But yeah I really want to play it and will buy it for the Playstation 2, my only and lovable console, something soon. But first theres some other games I want to buy first

View My Orange Website Its my family website
Dementour replied to honmore's topic in General Discussion
I really like it, the layout is colorful, not clashing, and has a easy-to-find navigation at the side. However even though I like the flash layout it should be presented first instead of having a link on the main page to view it, this way all your visitors will be able to see it whilst now theres probably a very small percentage of people that clicked that link to view the intro. I also like the background, did you do that yourself?Overall I would say this is a very nice website, not sure about the dedication to it though as the content isnt much or isnt appealing for me to look around. But for what it is the layout suits it nicely. Good work, keep it up! -
I have a few movies I can recomend, heres a listing and description of why i choose them: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - The best fantasy movies ever made! Full of amazing blockbuster special visual effects, breathtaking stunts and action sequences that has 'how did they do that' come to mind, great characters that have been marked down in movie history for their lovable acting, amazing storyline... Basically LOTR managed to snatch most of the awards for 'best of', watch them and find out why. Oh and Enya did the hit track for the original! The Matrix Trilogy - I never was fond of the original until the other two came out Reloaded and Revolution. Reloaded was once the 'best film I ever saw' by the jaw dropping and ground breaking special visual effects, clever martial art action sequences, great orchestrated heart-pumping music, a nice storyline even though its not its strong points. Revolution was not as good as Reloaded but still had some classic moments of beautiful special visual effects and action sequences, might be a little spaced out more, focussing more on the not-so-good storyline with some clitches as well but overall a great send-off to round the trilogy nicely Scream Trilogy - The original was once the 'best horror movie' i ever saw, i memorised it word for word, remembered every scene. Bought the merchandise; soundtracks, posters... even the scream costume! The original was amazing! Couldnt of improved in any aspect which made the music composer Marco Beltrami and writer Kevin Williamson into the movie industry like never before. The sequel was just as good, a little disapointing but has some great moments like the death of Randy and the memorable opening in a theatre complex. The third was the worst out of the three, but since im a huge fan of Scream I managed to sit back and enjoy it, to some certain extent. But needs to be watched to know how it all ends, might be best if you dont know because its hasnt got the most cleverest of plots. Spiderman and Spiderman 2 - The original was amazing in the theatre but when I had it on DVD the special visual effects werent that good. Still a good film never the less. The sequel however was beyond amazing showing some of the most incredible special visual effects I have seen with a storyline that tightens and thrusts us more into the characters lifes doing some daring storyline directions that worked nicely. A little over-the-top with some action sequences but still a whole lot of fun Kill Bill Volume 1 & 2 - Volume 1 had some tasty blood drenched action sequences of revenge by Uma Thurman in all its gory glory, by the bucket loads. The Volume 2 however focusses more on the storyline than the action sequences and gore, even though it has some great moments, but a whole lot less of them. The characters are what I love the most, and also some of their conversations are just great to listen to. Budd has to be my favourite actor! The music is pretty good as well all set in whats supposed to be the 70s or 80s paying homage by Tarrantino with old fashion martial arts, spagetti western and revenge. Pirates of the caribbean - A great Walt Disney movie inspired by the boat ride in the Magic Kingdom Florida/Paris. Some nice action sequences, not the best however, some great special visual effects, and superb acting by Johnny Depp, his best performance I have seen him in yet as Captain James Sparrow. A little disapointing, but has some good clean fun. Terminator trilogy - The original I didnt take much shine to, but still good to watch. Only when Judgement Day, the sequel, came out is when all the real fun and action begins. Even to this day the special visual effects amaze me, the action sequences are legendary with some cheesy but very catchy one linears. Rise of the Machines, the third, was a disapointment, in comparison to the sequel but thats understandable. However it makes up for it with some really good special visual effects that will make you laugh not because their crap but the acting of Arnold and that female model pretending to be scary being robots.
