  1. I’m not sure exactly how that works. I know that if I download a file from dslreports it downloads at 300kb/s, and if i download a popular file from download.com it's closer to 1000kb/s. With that I'm going to assume it’s more of the server you’re downloading from then your connection. Meaning if connection A had a download of 3mb/s, and connection b had 1mb/s, both would download the file from the same speed of a server with an upload >1000kb/s....I think.....Someone back me up.
  2. Yeah a red bull might be a better option then a powder that gives your a positive dope test, but it could be helpful if your really desperate....like now....
  3. Most of you probably know all of these but just in case you donât hereâs some stuff you can do if your not feeling patient. 1. Close your anti-virus. Usually your anti-viral program slows down all your connections, incoming and outgoing to your computer. If you think what your downloading is safe, consider temporarily shutting down your anti-virus. 2. Bit Torrent I donât really know what it does but I think it has something to do with downloading portions of files from a bunch of different people instead of just one source so it goes faster. 3. Tweak Download this stuff http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php , it should give you a little boost.
  4. ah yeah forgot about the cold shower.what is that powder called?
  5. This a little random, but say you need to stay awake to finish something. Maybe a papers due....maybe you don’t believe in sleep....maybe you need to write 50 tutorials by Saturday because your old web space provider decided to put this enormous pop up on your website and your too broke to afford decent web space. Never the less, he's what I do to keep my eyes open Coffee and Other Caffeines In my records, if I am constantly drinking say a coke, I'm not going to fall asleep or loose concentration. I think just swallowing anything cold does a good deed in keeping your eyes open. Radio Listening to a good radio station keeps me focused enough to keep doing what I'm doing without drooling on my hands. Tap Sh!t If you keep tapping your foot on the ground or shaking your leg or banging your right thumb on your desk fast enough to resemble the sound of a humming bird; it works as another focusing tool. THE WHAMMY! Drink caffeine, listen to the radio, and tap on something at the same time…. No way you’re going to dose off. Have fun with that.
  6. I'm not the best web designer in the world, so this tutorial isn’t going to be great. But if you’re baffled heres some short tips that might help. Colors I always thought that the main color of your site had a big influence on the visitor. Like each color has its separate emotion. If your website is all black it could hint that your hiding something. It also tends to looks slightly amateur. But on the other hand, if you’re trying to appeal in a younger audience and your selling something you want to look "cool", then black might be a better option. I usually have about 3 or 4 different colors, usually within a shade. Organization Things should be easy to find. Navigation should never be confusing. Try to make sure the labels you’re put on your links are direct or to-the-point as possible. I personally like things small. To me it’s easier to see, ironically enough, and get around. Headers, or Labels I always state what the user is reading or looking at boldly at the top of the page. Its not that I'm assuming they forgot what the topic was, it might just have a reassurance factor. Thats all I've got for now, hope it helps.
  7. Here is some stuff that I have been using on my box to make things easier and run more smoothly. I'm 95% confident they dont have ad ware, but if you get some blame it on somebody else. In order of importance: Firefox v1.0 - My favorite browser. Its fast, easy, and it has a bunch of tasty tools like tabbed browsing, download manager, pop up blocker, integrated google toolbar, and a bunch of other little great things that makes life just that much better. Ad-Aware 6 - Nice ad ware detector and remover. Finds pretty much everything. I also use Spybot - S&D and a a program called Spyware Doctor. ZoneAlarm - Detects all your connections, lets you block them, configure stuff, and warns you about hackers and things. Winamp - For your music. Its a small play list with an easy interface. Registry Mechanic - In short it deletes unused or un needed registry keys, and fixes the screwed up ones to improve your system's overall performance. Kazaa Lite K++ - I dont know if you can still get this but if you can its great for obvious reasons.

  20. Thanks man great tutorial it helped me out a bunch. A site I could recommend for domain registration is domainsarefree.com. I think I only paid about four bucks. As far as free hosting Xisto is the best I can find. I was using freeservers.com but then I got this big banner ad one day, and they want me to pay them 2 bucks a month to take it off. So I did a search through freewebspace.net and found Xisto to be the best option. Thanks again.
  21. It took me a long time to think of my name. When I started I was blindly guessing names and asking my friends if they sounded okay. With failure after failure, I set up some guidelines for myself: 1. Something easy to remember. A name that your visitors can easily remember is crucial. If someone can’t remember what your site is called, they cannot visit it a second time. 2. Something short. Something short kind of ties in with something easy to remember. It also has an attractiveness factor. 3. Something relevant. I think it should be something relevant to the content of your website, or relevant to yourself. 4. Something different. It shouldn’t look like something else popular. For example, pastahost is probably not the best choice.
