Does even the index.htm or all the other pages exists???

If they do then did you link it correctly??? What I mean correctly is that did you spell the file name correctly??? Is it in the directroy you specified???

Last and most important, is their any data on the files them selves???

  2. I got  a .info free domain.

and I just wanna use it for my local machine.

please tell me to to use it.

    I don't have a static ip. .

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Why don't you point your free domain, to a free DNS service, that provides Dynamic fowarding...

One service that provides this is http://dyn.com/managed-dns-express/, they have about 4 worldwide DNS servers; and its free to use, all you need is an account, and point and post your domain to thier DNS Servers, and then download the small .exe file to dynamicly change your IP address with the DNS servers... :)

  3. I really wonder whats the sense of having a wireless network???Its MORE LIKELY TO be HACKED AND ABUSED, then a wired network such as Ethernet, or Token Ring...The connection is very poor, range while with wired its alot better...Last and most important, it more costly, nearly double the price of a wired network...And I nearly forgot, its very hard to troubleshoot and repair...

    Aslamo Alaikum! All Friends

I have just registered to The Site and im New One here.

I hope Best for All of You.

Here i m to discuss with you some thing about Internet sharing on local area network..

I have a network of 10 pcs in my office..

we provide internet facility on 10 systems though a http page logon system..

The Intenet is provided by a main server running Linux operating system..

All Authentication is done from that server having ip 10.0.0.1

Other 10 systems get IP's through DHCP  as 10.0.0.2, 10.0.0.2 and so on.

The Process is done as follows.

When a employee want sto connect to internet, he open in etern explorer winds and try to open any site , if he is offline a Lo0gon authentication page loads and he has to provide a username and password and then click Login button then the user name and password is checked on main server and if validated the user connects to the net and start browsing....

the whole process uses tcp/ip protocol and a software named Putty is used to check the process , traffic, data tarnsfer etc..

now some times it happens that an error showing " error recieving data

from scoket 9 and some times " error receiving data from socket 104" occurs and the authentication page hangs and users cann't logon or disconnect if connected..

I want to discuss why this error occurs and can anybody tell me the solution  of this problem..

I hope i will get  a response from you poeple soon. Inshallah

    Thanks!

Well sharing an internet connection is very simple task, all you need are a connection device(s), for you computers and internet connection...

So, this is my setup, in my network, I have a Linksys Router, that has an intergrated switch with about 5 ports, so I connect my internet connection to the WAN or Uplink port, then all my computers I wanted to network and share the connection, I connect to the switch... :)

Thats it and its very simple, this way...

  5. Sorry if this post will bust your bubble, all those free domains out there are only subdomains, I repeat only SUBDOMAINS...A real Domain, also known as a Top Level Domain, is xxx.com/.org/.biz/.info/.etc well you get my point...So, why is this matter??? because a real domain, will take up to 3 days to successfully regester to a IP address, while a subdomain will only take 1 hour max... :)

  6. Recently my school organize a carnival and we have to set up a LAN gaming stall. I was amazed by how my friends set up the LAN network. Can anyone give me an idea of how to do the LAN networking stuff?

    Thanks

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Well setting up a Local Area Network or a Wide Area Network is very simple, and complex...

For instance, just setting things up can and is very simple, but then managing/repairing the network, can be very hard.

So, to setup a Local Area Network, or a Wide Area Network, you need cables (how many devices your going to connect plus one more, for backup...) and some type of device that your going to connect everything to, such as a switch, hub, or even a router/gateway...

That is if you want to create a non peer to peer network, elsewise you only need cables (The number of devices your connecting minus one...), then all you need is to connect the cable (YOU HAVE TO USE A CROSSOVER CALBE, NOT A PATCH CABLE, ELSEWISE IT WOULDN'T WORK!!!) to the computers...

Thats the basics, if you want more information, then please feel free to contact me... :)

  7. Recently I got a video about Tom's Hardware where the tested out P4 processors with the AMD ones. This is what I saw,

TEST GAME : Quake 3 Arena.

The game was started and the heatsink was removed from the processor. After a couple of seconds,

AMD got burnt and also screwed up the processor. But gave peak performance until it finally commited suicide.

INTEL machine got switched off.. Possible hanged! Motherboard. Performance went on decreasing until it finally went off to sleep.

    So, what do you think?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

What I think (and this has been proven) AMD is better then Intel, in everything except for mulitimedia creation, editing, and producing...

So, what does this mean, AMD, is a better processor if you do everything, except editing and produceing video, and sound... :)

That your better off sticking with Intel... :)

  8. still dont get what is

MySQL is used world wide, and people that uses it for profiting purposes are requested to donate to the project... :)
