I think link exchange is the most effective way. You need to create as many links as possible at other websites of similar contents to attract the Google bots to your site.

As your site are listed on top as "sponsor link" you address is promoted. Event if you don't take time visiting those sites, you will keep in mind the service and the address of those listed site. This is the main purpose of most of them. It is the very interesting story to see what new guy appears in the same industry on google. More and more new companies join the program, and most of them have to pay more than the prior-listed companies. This sounds a bit painful, but we must accept it. it's the marketting, not merely the technical issue!

That's right! I am very impressed with this features of Gmail. They sort all spamming content emails to the trash and automatically delete them after 15 days. They know more what mails are spams b/c google has their content management (which is used for ads), and I think they can figure out what content is spamming more exactly than Yahoo or other Gig guys

For example, you and your competitors want the results for the key word: "cheap hosting" to be lists on the top, you will pay to beat others to be ranked in the higher position than they are. I will not vote for this guy. PhpBB are hard to hack mods. It takes you much time to modify both the php files and template files so that they get on well with each other. I have many problems changing the skin for my PhpBB board b/c I hacked to many mods and don't remember what mods should be added to the new skins. And of course, if you don't add enough the mods for your new skin, all the board will not work.
