In case someone dont have any background of flash.

You may download flash MX 2004 here:

Second Step: learn form examples (Snow effect):

I am posting some snow effect samples with tutorials

If I could find more later, I would post them. But I believe these samples will already help you SNOW....

Second Step II learn from samples (clock):

Clock, for tracking how much time, you have wasted... ANd how close to the END... I guess

    - must have some autoscripts knowledge

Second Step III Learn from examples (Preloader):

Reseach indicate most people cant wait over 7s .... With a 56k modem(IS anyone still using it???) it may take forever to load a flash... Preloader help those guys get more patience..

    a simple preloader

  2. Hi all,I am pretty new to HTML coding but not to graphic design, and my experience with HTML is that components tend to slip and slide all over the place depending upon window size. So I decided to create the pages for my new project in CoreDraw, then use DreamWeaver/Fireworks to convert it to HTML, adding hotspots for links.I am pretty pleased with the results but I seem to have created a major problem with search engine spidering. As the pages are basically one big graphic (although now sliced with Fireworks) there is very little actual text for the robots to index. I do have META tags for keywords and the like, but I understand a correlation between the keywords and the actual text on the page is important in getting top listings. So how do I get around this requirement? I have been submitting the new pages for about 6 months now and they still don't turn up in a search. Is there a META tag I can load all the text into, or sump'n? Thanks in advance for your advice.

  3. Most of the websites that I currently visit all of ads of some type in their website design. I was also planning to ad a few ads to my website to help pay for a domain name and was wondering where I should place my ads. Where is the best location to place ads so that a lot of people will click on them? Is it on the top or bottom and what type of ad service do you recommend that I use?

    Thanks,

    Nisshutsu

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

i suggest you can use a frame to design your web site. You can make a frame on the top on your site and you only put a ads on there. So, every time your visitior visits your site will find your ads easily and they need to see the ads when they are viewing any pages of your site, because you are using a frame fixing the ads on the top of your site.

  4. I don't tihnk it counts toward your bandwidth usage. I tihnk emails do however and they count towards your space depending on how many emails are stored on the server. Bandwidth usage is counted against you also when you look at your website. But cPanel? no I do not think so.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

yes i also think it won't count your bandwidth when you use your bandwidth. But i think email maight counts, it is because it counts bandwidth when people downloading thins fron your website,it is the same to use your bandwidth when you send somethings to others. That's why i think i might count. In addtion, using a ftp to upload do not count bandwidth, because you are just upload , not viewing your web site.

  5. That is a really long list. What is the list for? is it a list of services that sites will offer for domain names for people (like uni.cc) or what?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

it is a list for free subdomains and urls, but not all of them provide dns service.

(uni.cc provide dns service)If the free subdomains or urls do not provide dns service, you can't use it to sign up for a host.It can only use for making a shorter domain name and let the visitors easier to remember the domain of you site.

  7. I've been using Total Training's Photoshop CS trining (7 DVD's, hosted by Deke McClelland) in order to gain more knowledge about PS:CS, but I've ran into a snafu.I've found that, upon boot, Photoshop takes 7 minutes to load. During this time, it stops for a LONG time on "Finding Plugins" and "Building TWAIN Menu List...".Through much trial and error, I have found that if you ~ out the beginning of a folder name, PS will not load the contents on boot.So I renamed:C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\Import-Export(which contains just TWAIN_32.8BA)toC:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\~Import-ExportAND RENAMEDC:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\AutomatetoC:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\~AutomateAND RENAMEDC:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\~Automate\Online ServicestoC:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\~Automate\~Online ServicesWith this done, PS Cold Boots in 12 seconds, and warm boots in about 6-7. (AMD XP 1800 1.5Ghz, 1024MB DDR, Windows XP Pro).I noticed that if you goto START > RUN > 'SERVICES.MSC' That the WIA (Windows Imaging Acquisition) Service is not started. WIA sounds like something PS would need to capture my Twain Compliant Scanner (Microtek SlimScan C6 US. Well, I tried to start it, but it times out, so I don't know if that's my problem or not.If I dont' ~ out any folder names, PS DOES LOAD (after 7 minutes), but when I goto FILE > IMPORT > Microtek SlimScan (32bit)..., it takes another 2 MINUTES to bring up the ScanWizard for import into PS. Once I scan, the image comes in fine. But this is just WAY TOO LONG. Something is holding it up.

  9. Hey guys, I have created an image in Photoshop that I want to use as my website front end, but I have a few questions:1. How do I go about putting the hyperlinks into my navigation menu?2. I want to use the blank space I have left as a frame, what would be the best way to this? I was thinking of creating the layout of frames in dreamweaver theb slicing and inserting the images into the individual frames? the filling the centre frame the same colour as the frotn end so it belnds in

  10. I was trying to make a selection using the magnetic lasso tool and every time I get about half way done my screen goes blank. I can hit enter and return to the original screen but then ive lost my selection. I have used other tools to make a selection and have not had problems, only with the magnetic lasso tool does this happen. Does anyone have any tips?

  11. HI,I'm not an expert (yet!) in PS7. But I'm wondering why there's a color difference between what you print on a home printer and what you send to the lab to be developed (on photo paper)????I did a montage with KAKI (pale green) borders, it looked good on the screen and on my printer. SO I sent the file to be developed on photo paper. To my suprise the borders are now LIME (green) color, instead of the more KAKI green (Original montage). Is there anything I can do to get a more WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) feel between the ORIGINAL, PRINTED and DEVELOPED (photo paper) versions????

  14. Hi,

I been making a retro style space game where the spaceship can move around the screen and other ships would slide accross the screen and try and shoot you down.

Well, when i play it, its unfinnished, it seems really slow. It moves fast for a few seconds and then suddenly stops/slows down for a second. Sometimes is running really slow. But what dont makes sence is that my Thread.sleep is set at about 0.005 and that is really slow on the game and chnaging it to a lower value doesnt change much. But if i change it to 0, then the game goes crazy, well its still slow, but i end up on another part of the screen, meaning its going too fast.

I think its somthing to do with the threading as i got lots of threads but i have given prioities which should make it a little more effiecent, but i dont want to put the threads into one thread becuase it will ruin the timeing of my spacecraft movement, the laser movement and the key listeners.

I also thought it could be the display code which repaints every 24 frames, but removing that and adding repaints to every thread still makes it very slow.

Thanks in advance if you can help me with the problem

Heres the full code below, sorry its not documented, The graphics part is in the middle of the code and is pointed out.

  16. Runtime.exec() stdout/stderr lost after execvp() in C program?Hello,I have a C program that is printing one line of text to stdout, then it is replacing the current process with a new one using execvp(), and then the new program is printing many lines of text to stdout. When I execute the program in a console (Linux), I can see the line printed by the first process followed by the lines printed by the second process. But when I run the program using Runtime.exec(), the line printed by the first process seems to be thrown away, actually everything the first process writes to stdout gets lost. The first line that can be read from Process' InputStream is the one printed by the second process. This behaviour is consistent with JDK 1.3.1, 1.4.2 and 1.5.0 RC, so I assume this is not a bug.My question is, why is it not possible to read the text written by the first process before execvp()? Is there a way to make that work?I could provide very simple sample code if needed.

  17. Hi,I am trying to write a code to combine RTF file and TIFF file into an output RTF file. That means, output RTF file should have RTF file contents at the top followed by TIFF image. The code is:import java.io.*;public class RTFTest{public RTFTest(String rtfFile, String tifFile){try{BufferedInputStream bis = new BufferedInputStream (new FileInputStream (new File(rtfFile)));int iAvailable = bis.available();byte[] b = new byte[iAvailable];bis.read (b, 0, iAvailable);bis.close();BufferedInputStream bis2 = new BufferedInputStream (new FileInputStream (new File(tifFile)));int iAvailable2 = bis2.available();byte[] b2 = new byte[iAvailable2];bis2.read (b2, 0, iAvailable2);bis2.close();BufferedOutputStream bos = new BufferedOutputStream (new FileOutputStream (new File("output.rtf")));bos.write (b, 0, iAvailable);bos.write (b2, 0, iAvailable2);bos.flush();bos.close();}catch(Exception ex){ex.printStackTrace();}}public static void main(String args[]){new RTFTest("./input.rtf", "./test.tif");}}But, when I open the output.tif, I could only see RTF contents. Not sure what happened to the TIFF contents written onto it. Please help me with this.Regards,
