  1. ok so admins or mods have to approve the post first before it becomes public? or do hey clean up after whatever media being posted that violates forum policy?
  2. this looks so cool https://www.engadget.com/ it will be awesome if this can be integrated to PCs or may be a PC Kinect kit for PC gamers
  3. ok... so who uses these kinda chan forums anyways? this is the first time i've heard of it.. at first i thought it's some chinese stuff called Chan as in Jackie Chan... lol...
  4. i was wondering what chan is... with a bit of googling, it's an image/pics forum... i think this should've been posted on tutorial forum...
  5. so compromising between contents and speed... it's important to ensure that the information to be presented are available and limited unnecessary data (like advertisements and related information)you will also consider that there's a lot of mobile device users these days which still has their low level of speed connections, we're in the era of the mobile booming.. making a site (or page) elegant and simple takes a bit of compromising effort between contents and looks...
  6. users can be a real pain to satisfy, but theming does play a big role in ensuring customers enjoy their stay on a site... just a thought, ever tried a plugin that will enable color theme options? so users can at least have a variety of color choices... everyone has their own preference of color scheme
  7. just read this article: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2386595,00.asp all the bill-gate haters will start pointing fingers at Microsoft
  8. already made queries on that and will do a bit of googling as well... thanks starscream
  9. indeed, but i was more referring to ease of use and familiarness with the OS... my nephews don't like Linux and are put off with it being there... so they hardly touch it no more yes Windows can be set with passwords and guest accounts etc... but i prefer one account on my pc
  10. a great number of mobile devices companies agreed on a standard universal charger - micro-usb http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ but how about laptops? i've got three laptops here with me... all with different charging tips and power ratings... and it's a nightmare when these adapters or tips malfunctions... three different adaptors... very similar laptops in system specification but different brands hence different adapters and connection tips...
  11. the Gnome interface looks a bit different and i was more referring to downloading whatever they want and install it on my machine... so easy in Windows (unless altered of-course to behave in certain ways)
  12. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ i always thought skype tend to have issues regularly... well for the little time i've used skype a few years back i always end up with hungup calls and audio issues... unstable connections! but then it could be todo with my network although i was on broadband already so don't seem to see why it did that... anyways microsoft hasn't acquired Skype yet.. but seems like the Microsoft effect has started already lol...
  13. awesome! i registered with Xisto in 2005, i must've drifted away because i can't even remember registering or making any posts on the Forum then... then recently i was on a hunt for a Free Hosting Service and i decided to register with Xisto but when i fill in the form i get the error saying the email address has already registered... so i logged in and luckily my account was still here after almost 6 years of not using it
  14. my reason is just out of curiosity really... and also just wanted the themes readily available locally when i wanna change it, some of these themes are over a megabyte or two... do you use google chrome or chromium? they are my default browsers in Windows and Linux respectively...
  15. i still use Windows only for Gaming... I switch to Linux because everyone i know uses Windows or Mac... and also because i want to Learn Linux and hopefully be a Linux Guru someday lol...i also like the idea of open source which i find is quite common with a lot (or most) of the Linux Software Packagesanother reason is that, with a computer running Linux my little nephews and nieces wouldn't mess with my machines as often as they use to when it's running Windows
  16. welcome, there's an introduction section for introducing yourself...hope you will enjoy your stay..
  17. hehe... cheers yord, these are legitimate downloads
  18. thanks starscream... it seems an image for vms aren't really easy to get hold of for androids... but Chrome OS does have image available
  19. now that Microsoft has accrued Skype, now we'll wait and see how the results of this... i've always wondered why gtalk and google voice (although it's still less than 5 years old) were still not as popular as skype even though google's gmail is one of the most popular email service in the world!
  20. i do downloading videos and when i come across a file for download it has a information about it's format/size etc...now what i'm curious to know is, what does it mean when a video has this:Video:576x288 492kbps25fpsnow i understand the 25 Frames per Second and resolution of 576x288 pixels but the 492kbps i'm abit confused aboutwith a hight kbps would that mean better quality? i can google this but would see if anyone here can pop me a quicker answer....cheers
  21. i thought there's quite a few alternatives to skype, just not as popular... i thought skype is dominant due to it's readily established number of clients (or users)... there's Gtalk, Jajah, VBuzzer to name a few... but i hope Microsofts intentions for Microsoft-Skype will be a success in all platforms
  22. cheers starscream for the headsup... i've registered a domain with luckyregister.com, i have used godaddy for a couple of years sometime ago just for domain registration and domainsarefree.com, had some issue with domainsarefree.com as they keep sending me hosting promotions when i opted out of their newsletter mail system at the beginning...
  23. alright... so does that apply to all Internet services in Asia? i mean that tax extra? or only for Hosting Services?
  24. has anyone here tried running Android on a VM?i mean the Android 2.2 or 2.3, i think chrome os would probably work but i'm curious about Android...
  25. OK... I'm from Australasia (New Zealand)... I'll find out soon enough if that applies to me as well (hope not) when i have enough credit to make a domain purchase
