  1. Thanks for your help :)i've replied to the PM.how can i find out which DBs have a T17 directoy?
  2. i sent you a PM yesterday Buffalo askign for details, did ya get it?and at what point of -credits will my Xisto account be deleted, because i don't have the time to get it back into +credits, and was the only reason i moved to compuhosting, i'm really worried that my work will be deleted suddenly.i don't mind a move taking a while etc untill ur less busy or whatever, but can you please reassure me, or freeze my T17 account Please!
  3. i believe the Database URLS are to the databases directly, and (hopefully) don't include the T17 sub-domain.
  4. After reading a question in the pre-sales section i nthis forum, about being able to transfer your Trap-17 data to paid hsoting by compuhosting, i went ahead with it.i put the following requested info in the notes section, as requested:"I have a Xisto Account, and would like all my content/databases moved to theCompuhosting account please. - my account is:tribunedesign.trap17.comand my user name on the Xisto Forum is: Goosestaf"Nothings been copied across though and i've received all the emails i need to, and the final one saying my account/domain is set up I need all my Xisto Account's Content and Databases moved to this new compushosting acount ASAP.please help
  5. nice work.you've achieved a good load-time be using little images, and made up the style with css so well done, but i have to agree that your header graphic should be more 'connected' if you know what i mean. it seems very detatched at the moment, and a bit odd.The rest of the site looks good, except i don't really like the orange bit, but thats probably just my preference.
  6. IE7 is better than FF IMHO.trust me, if FF ever got as popular as IE (which it never will) it will be cracked hacked and taken apart and revealed as buggy too.IE is moaned about having flas, secruity issues etc, but thats mainly down to FF not being a major target... yet. and FF has been hacked numerous times, with huge flaws for online shopping.so really the only difference is the tabbed browsing, OH WAIT, IE7 has that and its MUCH better than FFs IMO. the ability to open a new tab in ie7 is much easier than FFs. oh, and opera is as good as IE7 and FF anyday.
  7. looks kinda tacky IMHO.not something i would want on my desk
  8. its only a name people ipods a dumb name, googles a dumb name does it matter no you'll learn to love it. but getting to what matters. . . . i .e the actual product. it promises quite alot, and i'm waiting untill release to see if it delivers, but i've been looking for a new mp3 player/pmp and have a few hopes on this. check this out though: CLICKY viral marketing FTW
  9. just checked again, and its looking much tidyer :Dal lthe issues i saw have been sorted and its now quite an attractive site :)The only main advice i could give you, is to limit the amount of blog/news entries o nthe home page, and after that amount, your site automaticly archives them, with a link to page 1, 2, 3, 4 etc etc.other than that, great job
  10. wow, i'm really impressed.Great idea for a site too.I really like the simple style of the site, and its great evidence that you don't need lots of images and fancy graphics to create a sleek site.Just push it!Promote it whever possible.Unless theres other shout pages, more established out there, it has the potential to be quite popular.
  11. the links are a bit small, theres inconsistencies with the background. try aligning up to test in photoshop, then cutting it apparently.but to be honest, the pop-ups put me right of your site, and i'm not even going to rate it fully untill they go away. as every time a link is clicked, pop ups appear, and their the bad ones wich gve you NO option than to open a crappy "clean your pc download". Those sites do nothing but give you spyware, so sorry. . .
  12. mmmm well i guess the thread/forum catagories are well thought out, and you have obviously planned this out quite well. The Forum program you choose fits the job fine, and the template you used looks ok, if not a bit dark.My only main criticism is the lack of your own style into the actual appearence of the site.yes you have a banner at the top but the style doesn't fit the rest of the forum.Maybe thats all too come, but try and make it all look the same.and maybe a more harry potter related style if it gets really popular? mmmmmm like some bricks, textured paper, something like that kinda and whats a canon site? i tried to search, but only came up with the camera company
  13. mmmm i got quite a few (what i believe are) browser issues. But before that, nice job o nthe graphics <_<i like the style and the rusted metal style texture panels.not a huge fan of the font your using, and don't really liek the way the blog content is all centered, makes it loosk a bit amateurish.but now, i'm using IE7beta and this is what i get when i few the page.( the image is of two screenshots)Not entirely sure whats going on with the background o nthe left, and the end of what looks like a possible header which is repeating itself. The image links on the side of all the pages are dead links, so maybe the directoy is incorrect or something.and the blog page is almost like an external site jsut stuck in a frame n your new site.but it loosk like that your site does possibly use an iframe for the main content.but i'm sure you'll get them ironed out , liek you said :ph34r:As for design, its getting there, but feel like it seems a bit flat at the moment.l if yu know what i mean.it could jsut be the broswser errors i saw, and/or the alck of imges in paces etc.but good luck with it all :(will be checking this forum for progress updates etc
  14. what rvalkass said is true.it is largely down to personal preference, but if your looking for it to be heavily forum based, then IPB or PHPbb would suit fine, aslong as you can jazz it up with your own site's identity.CMS tend to be moreabout ease of adding content to a general website, which may, or may not include a forum. I would advise against Nuke, as 90% of sites created with it turn out ugly and with an "out of the box" feel to them.Joomla is a great and powerful CMS, and with addons such as Community builder, and Forum Bridges, you can create a great communtiy focused website, and give privledges to certain users to add and publish content. If you need nothign more than a forum with a home page to post news and maybe some other little thigns like, shoutbox, calander, basic statistics etc, then jsut get a Forum and use add-ons etc.But if you want a way to manage and add content to your site quickly, with a forum attatched and integrated, then get a CMS.(strictly speaking PHPbb and IPB can be classed as CMSs as well, but their bassily forums with some added functionailty)
