I was just thinking that will it be good or bad for me if I publish one article on ezinearticles.com for each page of my website. I think I should elaborate my question a little bit. I have a website with nearly 175 pages. Now what I am planning to do is to write 175 articles (obviously each one of them would be on the topic similar to one of the 175 pages of my website) and put a link to one page of my website on this article and publish it on ezinearticles.com. Is this good in terms of SEO or google have some policy according to which such thing is penalized.I would love to hear expert opinions along with professional references. Thanks in advance.

Ezine revived it's policies and your content needs to be atleast 400 words in length from now on. Also they don't allow dofollow links within article. You can place link in resource box to get some linkjuice. But don't bother with it for now because the equation of nofollow/dofollow don't matter for now because site is slapped by google. They need to pay attention to many factors to rise back in search engine. Make sure you don't publish too much atleast this month. Because it's my personal doubt that there hardly be any crawling from SE for this month on slapped sites. I'm not saying that they'll completely loss at crawler but more of less value for crawling. Unless they make changes there is no positive update from the SE as of yet. Just write 1 this month to be on the safe and less annoying side. More will not hurt but they'll not help either.

Yes I received an email from ezinearticles yesterday in which these changes were mentioned. However I could not guess why they have made these changes and now you gave me the answer. So it is good to not waste my time on ezinearticles until they prove their liability once again and rise to the glory where they were before.Let me make my question more general. What is the maximum number of articles that I should publish on any article directory to get links to my website. Does publishing indefinite number of articles help me. I mean I have a lot of time to work on the internet and adding content just to my own website isn't going to work because the content needs some exposure to generate some revenue for me. So if I spend most of my time writing articles and publishing them to various article directories (and ultimately get a link to every page of my website from every article directory I have targeted), will my website be benefitted by this or this would be just a waste of time?.If it is just a waste of time, where should I spend my time so that my website can see better results and I can earn more money from it.

That is like asking how many link that i need to place to get number 1 position for long term. There is no exact answer to this question. Those who give you any exact number are just guessing based on estimate of the current position holder or the competitor. This SEO stuff doesn't work like that (i mean) by competitor analysis only. You need to stand on your own. Sad news for you is that if you focus to much on SEO and less on your brand then manual review from chrome addon or from algorithm update will wipe you out. Your site needs to have more content (even less backlinks doesn't matter). You need to show your site as reputable brand in order to get links. This way you can generate organic backlinks which this algorithm is in search as of now. If you only spend your time creating links and less writing on your own site. Then you're missing a big point of making your brand stand out. This is bad as per the rolling of new algorithm. There are plenty of things going on in this update and you need to change your SEO strategy soon. As of now i think it's better to invest time on your own site and content. Then at the end of march you can look for the stats of those directories and submit again. I don't like leech factor of using sites or direcotries just for our gain. They need our good contribution as well. Anyway, wait till the end of march and then plan out action for the article marketing. This algorithm dust is not settled yet.

One of the ways to check the performance of your site versus other websites related to yours in terms of niche, is the "benchmarking" in google analytics. When I check my website in this tool, I find that my website is performing good. It is not far behind other websites. So this should mean that the data from chrome won't hurt the rank of my website. So most of the weightage for my site will depend on links that are coming from other websites. One thing I have understood in this short link building experience of mine is that links from pages of no value aren't going to help. You have to obtain links for pages that are linking to you to build weightage for them.
In my case, I have a lot of writing on my website but hardly and links to the content. In other words, I can say that I have created a lot of material but I haven't made the world know about my material. So I think that it is now time to make the world know that I have created some good stuff and that they should visit it.

Things are changed a bit after this algorithm update. I have seen many sites ranking on google just without any backlinks at all. This is temporary for some domains and permanent for few others. I don't know if it is based on google chrome addon or from google manual review from those who did it recently for panda update. If you can get 2 good links from high trustrank (not pagerank) then this will surpass 100 social bookmarks or even 100 high pr dofollow links. Sometimes google also pays attention to nofollow links and are boosting some domains. I did one experiment on pagerank sculpting. The sites with maximum nofollow outbound links are getting less SE exposure. You can guess why from this case. If you can't trust any person then why give nofollow to him ? just avoid linking is what they think. so looks like the line between dofollow and nofollow is very thin now. Back to your site, you can join health forums or medical forums where you can publish your link in sig while you contribute there. Similar to what you do here. This way you can get some traffic. But i'm not sure about ads converting from such forums visitors.

This is a good idea, however I have tried to look for forums that are related to the content on my website. There are some good ones but the number is not so great that can return my hard work in terms of a good amount of traffic.

It's not about big picture all the time. You can benefit from even small trickle of traffic. For example if any of the other forum member found your site useful, he'll link to it from his blog or some other comments. He'll also share it on social bookmarks and other things where traffic comes be it converting or non-converting. I can understand that you're looking at ever action of yours in terms of conversion. But contrary to real life, 90% of effort gives 10% results and remaining 10% of efforts are washed into noise and spam. So you have to be seen all the time in order to convert your efforts. Just don't look for the outcome all the time when you're promoting your sites. Not all those efforts are going to reward you immediately, take case of article marketing, many articles are not even indexed or get dofollow anchor to pass juice. This way you can judge the level of effort it takes to make money online using your site.

You are right and I do understand this in the back of my mind but I really need some results to carry on with my website. That is why now I am looking for some means that can keep me on the track.

Let me share one incident with you on this experiment. I know you can't do similar on yours but be creative anyway. I reviewed one US tv series in my own words and by now you know how cryptic my writing is sometimes here or anywhere. So that review got viral on tumblr and many users made fun of it because they were fan of that series and they made backlinks to my site saying 'what kind of review is this ?' or similar title etc. I didn't wrote that purposefully and my cryptic writing helped me here as well. :P Result ? more than 20 natural backlinks and reblogging traffic from tumbler. Now stuff is moved to wordpress.com and they're also giving me backlinks. Imagine, being controversial or stupid can help you sometimes, to get noticed by others. I never meant it for backlinks but for as experiment to see if my voice is heard on this noise of internet.

You can not posts so many links on one one page.
