4g = Real

Recommended Posts

When the iPhone 4 came out everyone kept calling it the iphone 4g. I assumed they called it this simply because it was the one after the iPhone 3g (or rather 3gs). Well today I discovered that 4G is actually something. It's a faster version of 3g. Apparently it uses a technology called WiMax which I heard about a few years ago on BBC's tech chow, Click. Basically I think wiMax is like like Wifi but it's long distance. Apparently the next iPhone is going to be 4g ready so that should be good.I haven't exactly got my facts straight on this so I apologize if some of this is incorrect. Have you heard of this new technology and how much do you know about it?

I´m not shore what is your poin in this post , but if ask what is wiMax here is your answer:

"WiMAX is an IP based, wireless broadband access technology that provides performance similar to 802.11/Wi-Fi networks with the coverage and QOS (quality of service) of cellular networks. WiMAX is also an acronym meaning "Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX)."
