Here's quoted text about Gaikai from their website https://www.gaikai.com/:

Gaikai - Streaming Worldsâ˘
Gaikai is a revolutionary new technology that lets you play any game online in your browser. In the age of the cloud, when all your documents, email, photos and videos are instantly reachable online, it seems archaic that you still need to install gigabytes of game files on an expensive PC with an even more expensive video card. And even then you can only play from that specific computer!

Gaikai takes a radical new approach â we host the games, we run them, we worry about hardware and software updates, and we stream them to you. Full resolution, full speed, stereo sound, low lag, no compromise. The only thing you need is a browser and an internet connection.

We call this Streaming Worlds, taking the full richness of modern computer games to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

They don't give the date when Gaikai will be avilaible for everybody, anyway the idea is fantastic. Play any game on your browser like you are playing flash! :) There's a demo video on YouTube, just write Gaikai and you will find what do you search. As i saw on the video there was all World of Warcraft games, Need for Speed and many other. :D

Depends from which throughput you have. Till now we need a hard drive because we need a lot of data throughput. These data are converted to a lot of graphical instructions, which need a very fast graphical processor.People having a very slooooow Internet link will not be able to achieve the same kind of games with streaming techniques, at least not the same number of frames per second for instance, or at least not at high screen resolutions.or did I miss something?

I don't know what technology or technique of streaming they are using, but check this demo video from YouTube and then write down what do you think. :) Here's the link in quotes:

Exactly what I said : four seconds demo, three seconds pause, four seconds demo, three seconds pause. This technique is not usable on on my home network.
