most people believe in some sort of after life. like being rencarnated (SP?)ghostsheaven/hellthe list can go on and on. but do you think there really is a after life??aperently people have seen ghosts and got them on camra or film. and others say that they died and saw heaven. what is your opinion on this subject??I believe in heaven/hell.

I voted maybe. On one hand, it could very well exist. We don't know if there's anything beyond our current existence. It always helps to keep an open mind. But on the other hand...heaven and hell could only be a creation by humans long, long ago. There is no way that we can go to these places, see if they exist, and if they do, what they look like, then come back and publish a set of books on them. The ghosts. Okay, I think it might be possible to see them. But I don't think it's really possible to capture them on camera or record them in anyway, so the camera and film thing I say would be fake. Dying and seeing heaven...? Do you mean that they teetered on the edge of dying, saw heaven, but somehow came back to the world of living anyways through some stroke of miracle? I suppose that could be possible, but then again, who knows? They might've been dreaming. Their brains might've been conjuring images of what heaven was like.I don't think there'll ever be a time when people completely agree on this. If we can't see it, we can't believe it, but at the same time, if there's no proof that it doesn't exist, then it could very well exist, couldn't it? (Much like the discussion of the Deathly Hallows in the new HP7, eh? XD)Serena

well, i honestly dont know if i believe or not, i dont think i ever will. For one, there are so many religions, with so many differant stories, its impossible to know, it ties in with questions like "Did Jesus exist?".Then i just think, im enjoying my life, i dont want to think about it.If there isnt an afterlife, there isnt an afterlife, i wont be thinking "oh damn, it doesnt exist" will i?If there is an afterlife, then great. Then i think "Where did this existance come from? what caused the big bang? how is nature so complex? these things make me think that there has to be a higher being, someone controling this.Overall, i realy do not know, for all i know, the universe could be some kid in another dimention's experiment gone to far, its just to much to think about and worry about

hi --- I know there are ghosts, because I saw one. My grandmother haunts the house I was born in. The people that lived in it saw her many times too, including visitors. She died when she was 86 years old, yet the age of the ghost is about 50 - 60. The house has been renovated over the years and a new room was added to the house. When she walks around the house she only goes into the rooms as they were when she was alive. A doorway was closed off, but she still walks thru it as though it is still there. I tried to speak to her, but she didn't acknowledge my presence at all.As far as the heaven/hell thing --- I heard this a while ago ---If there is no hell yet you live a good life you are okIf there is a hell and you live a good life you are okIf there is no hell and you live an evil life you are okIf there is a hell and you live an evil life you are in big trouble. Therefore living a good life you 50 % sure to do OKThen if you live an evil life -- you have a 75% of not being OKJust play the odds -------- where do you want to end up?

my maths and science teacher sed that heaven and hell isnt possible. we live in a 3 dimensional world and heaven and hell are 4 dimensional which means neither could have any effect on another. the same thing with god.then again thats her, she can be pretty crazy actually at sometimes.

I voted maybe.I can't prove by any means or any experience that it is even possible, nor do I personally know anyone or have met anyone that believes it does.Logically it would seem not, I would say what ever is left would naturally go back of what is left and re-used just like fertaliser, maybe it's not nice or fancy to think this way but there is nothing wrong with that.New life may very well be influenced by what returns.

I voted Yes.I think it fully depends on what religion you're in. If you are a christian, then there's definitely something after death. If you're taoist, then there's not even a life after death. You will be reborn to another life. But as a christian. Yeah.. Believe in that.

What I think is that the body you live in dies. then the soul or something like it goes in to another body which will be born. The body is like machine. The soul uses it and when it dies it finds a new body.So the evils and the good you did in your past life will affect your new life. If you did evil in your past life you will be born in to a unhappy life such as being born to an unhappy poor family or born in to a country where war rage on. But if you did good in your past life you will be born in to a happy life! Like a $rich$ place.THIS IS JUST A PASSING BY THOUGHT. I do not want to offend any religions or anything. :(Just enjoy your present life and be HAPPY!

Ironically your teacher got one the basest facts 100% wrong. Our universe has 4 dimensions

As a Christian I most certainly believe in heaven and hell.

but do you think there really is a after life??

If there isn't, then it doesn't really matter what you believe, does it?
If there is, then it does matter what you believe, doesn't it?

We die, what happens then is a later problem, thats what i think.Wy should we waste away our lifes, To think what happens after it?
Pretty stupid to do so, Cause when the time has come, You'll see..........
You should think about what you should do when you live, not whats happens when you die!

It is human nature to plan for the future. In so far as we are able it is only rational that we prepare for what will happen. So the question is whether we can know what will happen and if we can know that there is, then the question is whether we can do anything now to prepare. If not then you are right. But if the answer is yes then that is another matter indeed.

Therefore living a good life you 50 % sure to do OK
Then if you live an evil life -- you have a 75% of not being OK

Just play the odds -------- where do you want to end up?

I not only have serious doubts about your math, but I have doubts about whether playing the odds in this case will help one at all. Modern Christianity will tell you that your chances are 0% of being OK, regardless of what kind of life you live, so playing the odds doesn't help at all.

Ironically your teacher got one the basest facts 100% wrong. Our universe has 4 dimendions
As a Christian I most certainly believe in heaven and hell.

Our universe has at least 3 spatial dimensions and at least 4 space-time dimensions, but perhaps it has more - the best guess of current string theory is 11 space-time dimensions, but 7 are very small and only experienced in the variety of forms that energy can have in it.

I believe that heaven and hell are what people make of themselves. But ultimately the difference is found in the infinite nature of God compared to our own finitude. In a relationship with God we can find endless choices and inspiration, neverending challenges and excitement, and eternal growth and becoming as we seek to become more like Him. But without God an eternal existence must end in banality and despair.
