Hey what do you guys think of motorbikes? Riding through the wind at a speed that almost redefines the landscape!Well if you can pick up a hint I love touring and I have a sports touring bike myself. I remember when my best friend e-mailed me a picture of his new born daughter I replied with a picture of my new bike, just to keep up with the Jones.post-128009-0-99625400-1334387321_thumb.jpgBut there is one bike, I dream of riding and possessing and that is the BMW R 1200 RT, which cost US$17350 (ABS). I like this so much that if I had it, I would use to travel so far and wide that this planet would wish she were flat, so that she could throw me off from some far corner. Sports touring bike are practical, comfortable long distance travelers and BMW here makes the sweetest honey of them all with the R 1200 RT.I am not much of a tech freak but this bike does come with an audio player, which is probably for a guy to tune out his nagging wife when she is pillion. The R 1200 RT is made for long travel, you can travel fast and far like you can on no other bike and you surely won’t do the duck walk after the ride (totally buttocks friendly). The twin cylinder 1170cc boxer engine produces 110hp at 7750rpm and works beautifully as it is inherently well balanced, which coupled with the DOHC valve system, pumps out some amazing torque (120Nm at 6000rpm) while it runs like a cat purring on silk. The engine generate maximum torque in the low and middle rev range, making this bike very suited for cruising, which is why BMW has equipped the R 1200 RT with a solid shaft drive. Through all this and a 6-speed gear box the bike has a top speed of 125miles/hr.This bike is super reliable and you totally see that in every BMW, with their zero-defect build policy. This is one bike where the chances of breakdown in the middle of nowhere are as good as you ever selling this bike off i.e. if you ever have a privilege of owning this beauty.
