What Editor Do You Use For Html Documents?

I use notepad if I'm making something at home or vim if it's on my school's UNIX server. I prefer plain text editors because I know exactly what goes into my pages and it makes me feel smart to make my stuff from scratch.

Haha I use a mix from CSB as WYSIWYG and Crimson Editor to edit and write html, php and tpl texts

I think you should add emacs to the poll. It is really a popular editor with millions of users.

i am absolutley useless at the actual html code, so dreamweaver for me. its the BEST wysiwyg editor out there. at first i was impress by fp at school, but then i saw dream weaver [insert stare of wantingness here]...

I think that the best way to start lerning about web design is to learn HTML code first. What I mean is to learn to make page in notepad, and than start using WYSIWYGs.WYSIWYGs can save you a lot of time, but you need to know HTML language in order to optimize you page. WYSIWYGs can add a lot of unuseful lines of code.

I've only used notepad, sometimes I edit online with the built-in text editor one the file manager of Cpanel. I've tried FrontPage, but I don't like the interface, and I got a few errors. Can anyone suggest something that I mat try perhaps?

I use notepad when I'm not on my own computer. When I'm on mine I have jedit installed and I use it for XHTML, PHP, and CSS. It's a plain text editor too.

And how can some people use Word o_O oh.... it is a webpage editor sort of XD.

At first I have started to make my webpages with Dreamweaver but when I have learn html I have started to use HTML-KIT ( http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/), I don't think there can be better plain text editor than this. It's built in FTP uploader saves a lot of time. There are a number of plugins which are very powerful. And above all it is FREE.

I use MSFrontpage and Dreamweaver. I just find it easier to handle tables using MSFrontpage and i use a lot of behaviors so I have to use Dreamweaver. Next time I'll try to do a complete page using notepad but for now its WYSIWYG!

I fell stupid using notepad, why do something on your own when you have software for it. It's like writing machine code insted of using compilers. :DFrontpage is the best. I like using it because it does all the work for you. When I have to do hand coding I just change the view to HTML and then back to normal.It has CSS and stuff. I don't know it so it is better for me. I am not very good at HTML either. I want to start using Dreamweaver. That's the best. I'll be starting soon.

I used Notepad only when I was self-studying html from pagetutor.com some 4 years ago, when I understand the concept I've never used notepad. I've been using Dreamweaver Mx which can do in a matter of minutes all those line by line editing of notepad which takes time forever. In fact, Dreamweaver has everything we need in html. Frontpage is not what it looks like. I would like to try WYSIWYG though...

For the longest time I used Notepad for all of my HTML/Javascript/CSS needs. It was all that I needed, I didn't need extra bells and whistles (and a big chunk out of my hard drive). But for the past month or so, I have been using TextPad, and I have to say that it is worthwhile. It is capable of compiling and running Java apps, but I really don't need that since I already have Borland JBuilder X. I use TextPad primarily now because I can view what my work looks like with one click on the toolbar. A lot of HTML development programs have this feature, but TextPad is only a few megabytes rather then 30 or 40, and it gets the job done quickly, efficiently, and cleanly.

DreamWeaver is really nice software for edit and make html or many lan pages or websitei think with DreamWeaver is best and final software that can change and make html pages

Word gives you the option to save as HTML and it just inserts tags for you, but it's not that good and you can't do much besides bold/italic/underline/alignment.
