Awesome Picture Of A Dragonfly...

Recommended Posts

Check out this picture.

I took this outside my house. Did not realize that this picture will be so cool, but it turned out to be one. Should give credit to my room mate who pointed me to this dragon. :) Actually took so many pictures from different angles and using different mode. Have posted the best one.

Good job varalu. (real name would be better...)Would you mind sharing the technical information about this photo? The camera settings etc..Although I am not a "camera expert" but I am certainly interested in cameras and, of course, take the best picture at the best of my ability using the camera.Well done again!

han han.. Varalu is my real name. :)
I used my Olympus Fe 280. Surprisingly I used Auto settings with flash on. :P

It was in the night as you can see from the background. The first few shots were not really good, but after changing few settings, got it right.

I am not an camera expert either. But still the conditions were right and got the picture perfectly. Moreover the dragon was not moving and that was an added advantage and helped me capture it in a way I wanted.

Really nice picture, nice colours and all that. I wonder where is this captured. Also it'd be nice if you captured more pictures of this because you had an amazing opportunity to do that (if you haven't), or if you had you can post them too, I'm sure they'll be nice like this one is :)

Unexpected results on the composition and the background turns black to bring out the dragon fly as subject. But minor technical flaws is that the direct flash created a washout on the leaves and branches while casting a slight hard shadow from the dragon fly to the branches. This can be edited through photoshop then enlarge it, print it and frame it. Makes a great picture for the living room.

Thanks a lot Miladinoski (if that is your real name. :P)

Yes. I did take few more pictures, but this was the best, so posted only this.
Some of the other pictures were also good, but did not want the viewers to do a comparison between the two, instead appreciate the best one... So posted only one.

That is one amazing image when you see it close up. That must be a terrific camera. I love the detail in the close up picture, so crisp and defined. Well done :)
