I'm Confused About Hosting For Windows

Recommended Posts

How do I find out how much credits it takes to get hosted for windows? I went to the Xisto - Support page and went to order. For windows there is just 3 options and it doesnt say how much credits I need. I want to get hosted and get working on my website but I really need to know how many credits I need.

Why do you need a Windows Hosting package? Theat would use a Windows Server. It has nothing to do with the operating System you have at home. Most hosting services use Apache Servers and they are quite dependable. Most accounts here at the Trap are on Apache/Linux accounts. What is it that you are doing that requires a Windows Server?

I'm not doing anything that requires windows, I just thought it was OS specific. So what do I need to start a package, credit wise I mean. Things are a little confusing. I see that it costs a certain amount of $ each month but what do I need to start one? I have $14.00 credit, can I start one now? And if it goes by monthly, does that mean I have a month to come up with the MyCents needed to keep my site?

The least expensive package is around $1.05 per month. You should be good to go.go to the billing Centre and order your package. It takes about 12 hours (I think) to receive the activation email.Select "Order" from the left hand menu.

yep... The hosting packages have nothing to do with what operating system you have.Keep in mind that Windows Server is not that nessecary. I use Linux package. Everything works out okay, and I post regularly on the forums. If you post often, credits shouldn't be a big problem. Just make sure they are quality posts and not too short of a post, bigger posts give you more credits. It takes longer to get credits by posting shorter posts than bigger posts.
