Where Is The Second Hosting Plan? on xistosupport.com/billing

Recommended Posts

I remember that on this page https://support.xisto.com/cart.php there were exactly 4 predefined hosting packages but I can't seem to see the SECOND one, which I remember that was $5 a month but can't think of the features it had.

I want more info on why that offer is down because I was thinking of replacing my current one with that one. :P

Thanks onwards :P

The last edit is in the bold underlined. Sorry for the confusion Saint_Michael :P

Why not just choose one and customize it? They are all really about the same overall, the only difference seems to be the default settings. In terms of space, bandwidth, etc. though you can choose those upgrades when you order

You don't make a point that the third package isn't there but again rpgsearcherz since all the packages are set up with certain defaults. So like rpgsearcherz mention, just customize the package to your your needs and your fine and besides it would cost more to match any of the default packages if you want to set it up that way.

Forgot to add in that you can most likely also just email support and let them know the features you would like upgraded to. If it's just more space/bandwidth they should have no issues with that.

If it's php settings and stuff they can boost them a little but for some things they require VPS's or actual dedicated servers.

I was trying to say that it's not difficult for me to customize the package I'll get, but I asked because of newbies who maybe won't understand that they can edit their packages and I can prove that because a friend asked me why he can't see the second package he wanted :P

Understand what I'm trying to say? And it really is bad if it could be and it was a default one but now it's removed for some reason I don't know.

Also, I edited the first post to remove the confusion. I was thinking of the one that was between the 'Logic Plan' and the 'Logic XTREME' one if you remember which one I'm referring to.

That Plan was called the Logic PRO plan, and I forget the details about all the stuff that was included.$5.95 per month. and I can no longer see it on the list, either. Too bad. I own that plan. I am curious as to whether it will be available when I need to renew it in December next year??? Or should I plan on an upgrade?

I was thinking of doing that too in a few months. but now I think I will wait and see what will be what when I need to renew.

I have a couple questions about all of these hosting packages, if anyone feels they can answer them, :P.

1)Why would there be a setup fee on some packages and not others? Shouldn't they all just be automated anyways, or does the Extreme package have more control/features than the other 2?

2)What would someone do with 250 MySQL databases?lol...I only use 2-3 for an entire site, network, and forums. I can't really see the use of having more than that. These are not re-seller hosting, so it's not like you can just go sell some of your space out(well....I guess you can give it out?)

Heh, look on the bright side. I registered my hosting plan a day or two ago, and would definitely have considered going for the cheaper of the two "updated" ones if I'd have known it was going to make a reappearance. That said, I'm probably just being greedy, and would never really need that much hosting. Still, it's a nice idea. Also, I did notice that the price was a smidgen more, but on the bright side (while a few more options have been "metered", they don't really count as downsides as I can't see anyone actually ever using them all :P) you get a few more features. Nothing snazy, but I guess they have to move with the times.

On the upside of this, you can still go for the original hosting plan and customise it to your heart's content. As the "new" one is now a tad more pricey than it used to be, you can almost certainly get what you want with the standard Logic plan and add a few features here or there. One of my major concerns was not having enough subdomains, and at $4.95 for a year you can get 50 instead of 5. In the long run, my hosting is going to cost me around 10 MyCents per day (one smallish post), and that includes a domain that I'm going to register sometime soon and use as an addon domain. I'll happily trade the fact that the upgrade to Logic PRO is pricier if we get what we do with the standard Logic Plan, and it does make me a tad more certain that I went with the right choice of plan. My only concern, really, is that any further updates to the Logic Plan (well....upgrades, anyway, I'm not so keen on the downgrades :P) will be added to my current plan. While I got the issue resolved within a day or two of submitting a support ticket, I'd found out that I'd missed out on the "5 of everything" upgrade late last year. Still, a quick refund and an updated invoice, and I'm a happy camper.

Keep it up, folks, your hosting plans are damned awesome. :P

1)Why would there be a setup fee on some packages and not others? Shouldn't they all just be automated anyways, or does the Extreme package have more control/features than the other 2?

I'd imagine that it encourages people to really make sure they get the plan they want, and are committed enough to opt for the annual plan if they can (which, I believe, negates the setup fee for Logic PRO and Logic XTREME). That, and in the grand scheme of things it really isn't important. As you said, it's a setup fee, so if you stay with Xisto / Xisto - Web Hosting etc. then you won't have to pay it again. Something to do with loyalty, I expect. :D

God only knows...I think it's more of a case of having enough MySQL databases for you not to ever worry about it. I tend to have one or two per domain, and as the more expensive plans get more addon domains it makes sense, I suppose. Edited by Mordent (see edit history)
