Database Or Pdf Best way to list books on my site

Hi all, I am not sure if this is the right place to post but I'm sure you'll tell me if it's not. My problem is this: I have a website where I sell books and it's one of those simpleton sites where I don't need to know code, I just click icons etc Anyway, I can upload images to the server and need to have them in different resolutions and link from a thumbnail to the larger picture. What I am trying to say is I have about 6000 books to display on my website which is impractical as it takes me about 10 mins to load 1 copy. What is the best way to go about this? The thoughts I have at the momentis to load a thumbnail of each book and then put a link to the google book library but even then the systemt hat I use means I have to add each one individually. Is there a way that I could have it in a pdf format? or more to the point what would you do?

I say your better off setting up an online store and cut out the middle man of designing yourself a database to sell your books the hard way. However, if an online store is not an option then your better off creating a database that would have the following:Name of bookAuthorPriceImage 1Image 2There might be a few more things you could add to the database but that is at the minimum what you will need to set up a DB. But, like I said you better off taking a online store script like zencart and doing everything that way.

How code savvy are you? If you have the ability to had code a store yourself using a database, that is what I would recommend doing. It'd be more time consuming than using someone else's code of course, but you could customize it to fit your exact needs. Plus you would have the database at your fingertips in its bare form, and you could display and view books exactly how you wanted by creating your own queries.

Do you have an Excel worksheet or a CVS file where
it has all data of your 6000 books?

Your data should have: Title, Author, publication date,
publisher name, price, shipping or any services/
additional tax.

Just import it into a php shopping CMS script and you're
good to go.

Also.....Php script should have auto-zoom function so
you do not need to resize every book picture.

May be you should check out hotscripts.com to see if
there's a php script there for you (sorry - am in a
rush!)

Check your publishing license: are you permitted to
convert each book to pdf? Or are they already in PDF?
