What's going on with gamma? I've noticed my site, and a few others on gamma have either been running extremely slowly, or not running, period. Is there any explanation? Or is it just "being picky".It's been going up and down for a week or so now, I think if somethings wrong members should be aware that's it'll be fine.
This is new to me. I have been monitoring gamma server for past 3 days and have not noticed any slowness of the server. If anything, some members were booted from executing some unsafe scripts... but other than that my site has been running without a hitch. When you are going to report issues like this, please specify HTTP, SQL, PHP or other script etc. You can't just say gamma server is slow... and not sight an example.
Ok, sorry.Gamma server was being slow last night, TeeCee's site was loading slow, and my forums were aswell.A couple nights ago, SQL was down. And then it went down completely for about an hour.
SQL downtime seems to be consistant with one of our hosted members abusing emailing system. This member's hosting was suspended due to 2000+ spam emails. It was stopped by server admins. (Do not leak this information). So anything that deals with SQL database link would have been effected by this. Although a forum script may be in php or html format, it needs to be linked to SQL before presenting the whole page. And thus, with SQL busy sending mass email, your page and others might have seemed slow at times.HTTP was never effected and functioned 100% fully.
A few days ago Gamma seemed to have turned to "read only" and I couldn't edit my files.
It seems yesterday and today gamma is acting up again. The pages are simply not loading. I read on Asta that it was because of the data transfers from shothost to Xisto - Web Hosting. Is that true?
