Middle Clicking Way to Edit Topic Titles...

Recently, i've been using the middle button of my mouse to open links in a new tab. I middle-clicked on a topic-title link in a sub-forum to open a new tab to it. After being done with the page, i close the tab, and noticed the background color of the topic title a bit darker than the background color of the table cell. And i noticed a blinking cursor next to the title. I typed in something, then clicked out, and it modified the topic title. Neat! (Of course, i undid the modification, afterwards). I was just wondering if anyone else knew about this? I mean, this makes things more convenient. Not having to go into a topic, and click on the dropdown menu, and whatnot, to modify topic titles.

yup, and that method is what i use too to change/edit minor corrections, mostly spelling mistakes, on topic titles. most often, i don't add "moderator notes" anymore within the thread on topic titles i moderate (as long as it is minor).

edit: and i just remembered st michael discovered this too before. :(

Holy Smokes, it works on myiMac, too. Except it opens a new window instead of a tab. Wonder if I can change that? (The middle click and right cilck don't nomally work for anything on this Mac.)Nope, it appears not.

It was another enhanced feature since IPB v2.1.4.You can modify the topic title without opening the whole topic and editing FULL. Those without the middle 3rd button, just click and hold the topic title link and it should put you in the editing mode. If your browser disabled java completely, you cannot use fast topic title feature. You can also close/open a topic simply by clicking on the blue folder icon or the red X icon. This is very useful when mass moderating.Only moderators and administrators are allowed this function so there's no worry a regular member can use this function. There isn't a way to modify the topic description, however, except through the FULL editing.
