I've noticed that the member "beastjo" (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) has copied content from here. The forums and topic descriptions are EXACTALY the same has they are here. I'm not sure if you mind this but it lacks creativity. Shall I send a PM to the member and have them fix it? Or are you guys all alright with that?

BuffaloHelp

The issue, I think, was one of moderators prematurely answered when someone else asked if he/she can borrow topics form our board not so long ago. Can't find the topic...The answer should have been "it's a copyright of Xisto" so even answering "change words around and do not copy" should not have been manifested. There's nothing we can do at this point...unless OpaQue pursuits himself.

I've also noticed that the member also uses the account "beastjordan" -- I didn't check if he has hosting for both, but it could be an issue regardless. I personally don't have time to do anything thorough right now.EDIT: Oh, in response to a question I made to him about it earlier: "and the reason i have two accounts is because one was warned so i wanted free web hosting a made a new one but now i bought a domain name and got hosting."

jlhaslip

A member search shows three accounts set up for this guy. All the same IP, too.

A member can have multiple forum accounts, as long as only one hosting account is operated by one person.

Johnny

Yeah, I wasn't sure of the hosting status, but I s'pose he's okay how it is. BUT, he said something about making a new one because he was warned...I'm not sure I like that. Seems kind of "evade-the-system"-ish.

If he makes a new account because he was warned. I'm warning him again. And maybe ban one of his accounts of his choice. Memebers should have 1 account no matter what in my opinion. I don't like how people create new accounts because they were just warned.

My suggestion will be to deny all further hosting applications from this member; ban his accounts(all but the one he wants to use).

It's forum ettiqute honestly.
I see members with 60% warn levels, and they don't make new accounts, they just continue on.

Kubi,On the other hand, BH tells members to create a new account to avoid the Warnings, so I am confused about this, too.Hopefully, BH or Opaque will make a statement here on this issue.

Kubi

"Make new accounts to avoid warnings" that's not something I'd press. It's seems like a very silly rule to me. We want to warn members so they learn from there mistakes. They can just make good quality posts and we remove the warning!

Kubi,

i think this is not the case. :) maybe a misinterpretation. BH usually says that we can ban members for grave forum violations, and once they get banned, and they still would want to be hosted with Xisto, they can create a new account bearing in mind the lessons they learned with their earlier account which got banned. :P it has nothing to do with avoiding warnings, but "circumventing" the ban imposed on them instead. at least that's how i understand it. :P correct me if i'm wrong, BH! B)

BuffaloHelp

serverph,Yes that is my key point. I want every member to understand the gravity of BAN from our Xisto forum. Once BAN is placed I want everybody to know we don't take it back. It's a serious business. I do not reverse moderator's ban and mods, hopefully, won't reverse admin's ban. When a member asks, "well you're the admin can't you unband me?" I simply reply with, "please talk to the moderator who gave you the warning" because I respect everyone's decision to moderate a member, regardless the reason. :)But when a member seriously wants to be hosted by Xisto and have pledged to follow our forum rules, the alternative option is to create a new profile and start from the beginning. After all, we want people to be hosted with Xisto, not forbid.
