Windows Vista Tranformation Pack Make you computer look like Vista

Recommended Posts

Ok, some people here have probabely been trying to make their computer look like Windows Vista.
I have to, i found themes and so on but nothing i like they were all crusty, i searched and searched.
And found one, The Vista Transformation Pack 4.0 (They will probabely make new versions of it).

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

It contains everything
# Icons
# Themes
# Visual Themes
# Bootscreen
# Login Screen
# Sounds
# Transparency
# Start Menu Changes (WIth Vista Button inseat of start)
--Thats all i can think of but there probabely more.

Downside..I changes all you system files, so you get a lot of warning when you install it, the bootscreen is in 16 bit.

But it is Awsome..for instance have a look at my desktop, i took a screenshot of it:

Size: 14mb

Ohh and nearly forgot to mention, it changes the clock look to.

Plus you have 4 Visual Styles, one of them is dar, other changed the start menu, and the side menu you get when you go to My Computer, it goes to the top.

It is pretty cool, so far i have used it. The Tranparency gets anoyying at times, and you can control the opacity rate. So thats good.

Sister Software you can get:
# Sidebar
# Widgets Bar

If you know any other Software addon please post it.

And yes, it does come with an uninstallation program.

I have tried Windows Vista tranformation pack... i like very much but ones i have tried BricoPack Vista Inspirat it is much good than windows Vista transformation pack...

BricoPack Vista Inspirat is a free pack which modifies Windows XP system files in order to change its appearance and make it look like Windows Vista (the next operating system made by Microsoft).

Rewarded by a lot of magazine, Vista Inspirat BricoPack is the best way to change quickly and easily your Windows icons, logon and visual style.

You can download from http://www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=crystalxp&e=com

Highlights

Object docks

Y's toolbar

Many themes

Vista Icons (that i love it)

and much more....

I conclude with these words that BricoPack Vista inspirat provide more sub software than windows vista tranformation pack.

Yeah i'll give it a go, but i'm a bit scared at the moment. I just read some reviews on Vista Transformation Pack. And some of them said that when they tried uninstalling it they had problem. And it wrecked their computer. And they had to reinstall windows. So i'm a bit Conscious about it. If you already triede it and it worked good. Plaese post back about it.

WOW!! I would keep the Windows Customization Pack 4, I have Vista and it doesn't look that good (Aero Glass Is Disabled for Some reason). In fact if anyone knew how to reenable Areo Glass I would be very greatful to you if you told me, I'v tried, but it just isn't there for some reason. Oh and IE7 and Firefox are pretty much the same, only the layout and the fact that there are no themes for IE7 besides the base IE7.

I also tried both solutions BricoPack Vista Inspirat and Vista Transformation Pack. For a while BricoPack Vista Inspirat was the greatest, but with no updates coming it is as good as dead. The real Vista keep changing so an update even from last month is considered to be very old. I also have to admit that BricoPack Vista Inspirat has a much easier installation process than Vista Transformation Pack, but with the recent updates it seems Vista Transformation Pack is improving a lot (I mean the automatic one restart required installation vs the old one in version 3 that required two restarts).

Recently I also managed to make WindowBlinds work on my computer. It doesn't bring much exept for one thing. Alpha Blending also known as transparent windows borders. Plus the effect is not software created, but hardware created ... in other words it uses the video card to make that efect. This is considerbly better that any possible software version since it will "eat" much less processing power.

Also if you really want to go for a better Vista Transformation you should try a small software called TopDesk (you can find aditional information HERE or search on the torrents for the... let's say free version :) of it). So what does this software do? It creates an amazing 3D effect for Alt+Tab function. In other words it will replace that boring default effect with a much much more cooler 3D swaping effect. Hope you will enjoy them just as much as I did...

I don't know what problems other have had I haven't got any problems with installing or uninstalling Vista Transformation Pack. And I can tell you I installed it and uninstalled it at least 5 times... So as long as you follow the instructions there shouldn't be any trouble.

In any case I recommand you do a system restore point... Just in case!

PS1: Here are some screenshots of my Windows Vista Transformed OS. Enjoy...

PS2: The second screenshot is made using the Alb+TAb Function with TopDesk installed.Isn't it great?!?!

(If you mean sessions as a user) nar...when you do it..it affects the System folder, it changes the system files to change the GUI. There is only one SYstem folder not a seperate for each user. But you can change the theme on user to user. Like have your Dad's usings Windows XP, Your mums using Classic Windows and yours using one of the Vista Packs. Also when you change it it changes the boot screen and the log on screen.SOmething else i want to mention, i tried Vista Transformation back of a Chinese OEM XP computer, and it screwed it up. But the problem was easy to fix, i just had to find another chinese version of explorer.exe and replace it on the screwed comp.If you do use the Vista Transformation Pack, use a program like Style XP to change the bootscreen to a better version.

Just somethign that i recently noticed, when i installed the Tranformation pack, the process explorer.exe took a hell of a lot of ram. about 100mb at times. I'm not sure if it is caused by the transformatuon pack or not, but it went away when i changed back to the classic windows appereance.Usually Themes and Appereance changes do slow down the perfomance but i never seen it to that extent. (This was on other computer, a crusty one)

I really like the Transformation Pack, and thanks much for sharing it, but one thing I've noticed is that sometimes the Start Menu occasionally either shows the wrong icons or shows highlights for icons even when they are not being highlighted by my mouse. It's not a fatal flaw, but it can be a bit annoying.

Isn't one of the bad things about Vista the amount of processing power it requires? What does this take? Video card requirements?Eh, I don't need another process going. I already have 54 going pretty much constantly.

Hmm...I'm good with my Windows Xp Theme. I sometimes make my computer look like Windows 95 to make it run faster.Too chicken to install this Windows Vista Theme thing. It modifies System folder files (yikes!).It looks really nice and cool though.

thats pretty nice, i guess its alot nicer than the xp bar. i hate the xp bar, it lacks depth and balance. the start menu icon pisses me off extremely. although i woudnt mind switching to this theme, i'll be tolerant of the standard xp theme as it seems to be the least buggy. 3rd party gui systems have always crashed on my pc. gets really irritating at times. i'll just wait until vista ofically comes out before i feel the gui design ;]

I can't belive that people would actually use this.If your computer can support this "transformation pack" and still have proccessor capacity to spare, why not use Vista? This is just a massive memory and CPU hog.If you want a pretty (non-functional) OS, use a Mac.
