Thanks to iGuest for posting a new link. Yes, this is truly amazing. Macs come with many text-to-speech voices, including some singing ones, but this is better. Thanks for sharing.

I just realized that it just takes one-word clips from songs and puts them together. I actually recognized one. It's still pretty cool, though.edit: I recognize four or five now surprisingly enough.

I don't mean to be negative or anything, but it doesn't amaze me.It's just the basic technology that has always been available with samplers.Digitally adjusting the pitch of a note is so old news it's not funny.

yup.....its trueand also now you can do your job just by telling your command not by writting itman really it would be cool hope so it will be opened soon

I bumped into this page: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/group/speech-dialog-research-group/ when I was browsing the internet :P
Scroll down to the bottom, and you'll hear some pretty amazing songs! Sung by text to speech synthesized voices!

Oh right, this so good!

If I should stay, I would only be in your way. So I'll go, but I know I'll think of you ev'ry step of the way. And I will always love you. I will always love you. You, my darling you. Hmm. Bittersweet memories That is all I'm taking with me. So, goodbye. Please, don't cry. We both know I'm not what you, you need. And I will always love you. I will always love you. (Instrumental solo) I hope life treats you kind And I hope you have all you've dreamed of. And I wish to you, joy and happiness. But above all this, I wish you love. And I will always love you. I will always love you. I will always love you. I will always love you. I will always love you. I, I will always love you. You, darling, I love you. Ooh, I'll always, I'll always love you.

Replying to rvalkass"Would people go out and buy a CD of Microsoft Sam singing "You Have Selected Microsoft Sam As The Computer's Default Voice"? It'd certainly not make the top ten." <- Someone must have read this comment and made this a few weeks later : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ :D :D :D

For a singing robot, watch.http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ from japanJapan really has the market cornered on singing robots, its a little creepy that they're that good.

wow that was amazing i have never heard that before, the link on the first page is for 2006 so if anyone (like me) is interested in hearing some songs here is new link : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/project/whistler-text-to-speech-engine/ the songs are not great but if they produce a software for writing some poems and listen to different songs wich is created using that poem that will be great. previous year i saw a big robot in Dubai which was amazing it was really amazing but the songs which he singed was pre recorded but as the science grows maybe some years later we can hear a good song or even go to a live concert which robots gonna sing in it. anyway microsoft should try to put some better voices for these text to speech or text to sing softwares, the voices currently are terrible.

That is so amazing. It reminds me a lot about the viral video on YouTube when Obama had autotune put on him. The text-to-song sounds like something from Portal (The cake is a lie). The concept is pretty neat. The words and lyrics are converted to MIDI that can then be edited for pitch and rhythm. You guys should check out something called Vocaloid which is a more sophisticated singing synthesizer application where you can input syllables and edit dynamics, timing, pitch, formant, etc.

It's pretty neat. There is a pretty cool video on YouTube (Meltdown by Rin Kagamine) showing what the Vocaloid software sounds like. The software produces pretty neat results and sounds very similar to human singing.
