3d maxers out there? How many?

Recommended Posts

Okay, how many here are using 3dsmax? ...and for how long? and how "good" are you?I've been using 3dsmax for...hmmm....a couple of months now I think, and I would say that I'm pretty advanced now. But I was one of those who learned 3dsmax very fast...Very Fast actually...after a week in 3dsmax I was designing characters and such...then I've had a break for a while now, and just now I've started again, finding that I'm even better than before. Once I get some time I'll upload some of my work and character models here at the forum B)/Terriator

Well.. some things which are worth condidering is that .. Maya offers much more than 3d Max. This is what i came to hear from my frens. It is much bigger software and more expensive compared to 3d MAX!But the thing that matter's to me is that! It still really pisses me off when i look at all the Screen full of controls. So, I aint using it. B):P

Hey....I have 3d Studio Max 5.0 and soon to have Maya. My mom went to graphic art school and from what I understand MaYa is an 8,000 dollar program and 10 times better than the 3,500 dollar 3d Studio Max...On the other hand Im not sure what version anyone else in here uses but I haven't used the latest Max so I could be wrong. Is anyone willing to send me a copy of Maya if they have it and they dont like it?? Feel free to send me an email @ dudeigotadell@earthlink.net....By the way I've heard it takes one hell of a processor to render in Maya does anyone know?? Im running a 2004 Dell XPS (actually a state of the art gamming comp.) thanks....... B)

Both are really expensive. It takes alot of time and effort to learn and create products from these 2 programs. But I would recommend 3D Studio Max. Its really cool. I haven't tried out Maya so I can't really say anthing about it now.

what kinda fast comp does MAYA need? P4, 512MB RAM 2.0 GHZ? well i havent ever used that soft before, so i cant really tell what its is like. i heard it turns your screen into a haze of buttons and you get confused more and more :P
